ORDINANCE NO. ,9/// AN ORDINANCE relating to traffic control; providing for reminders and notices to be issued for overtime parking violations; amending Subsection 9.60.040 B of the City of Yakima Municipal Code; and declaring an emergency. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. Subsection 9.60.040 B of the City of Yakima Munici- pal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "9.60.040 Notice on illegally parked vehicle. B. Whenever any motor vehicle without an operator is found parked, angle parked, or stopped in any parking lot in violation of Subsection 9.50.675 A of the City of Yakima Municipal Code, or parked, angle parked or stopped for a period in excess of two hours in any unmetered park- ing space within the area bounded by the centerlines of the following streets: B Street on the north; Naches Avenue on the east; Walnut Street on the south; and 1st Street on the west; • then the officer or other authorized person finding such vehicle shall record its license number and may record any other information displayed on or in the vehicle which may identify its user or registered owner, and shall con- spicuously affix to such vehicle an overtime parking reminder on a form provided by the City reminding the operator of the parking violation. In the event four or more overtime parking reminders are issued to the same vehicle within any one calendar month, then a parking violation, notice shall be issued to the registered owner of that vehicle citing that owner for the fourth and any subsequent violations during any one calendar month, and notifying the registered owner that a warrant may issue for his arrest unless remittance is made within ten days of the date of the notice." •Section 2. This ordinance is one to provide for the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and wel- fare of the people of the City of Yakima and an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and • effect immediately upon its passage, approval and publication as provided by law and by the City Charter.
