AN ORDINANCE accepting the recommendation of the Planning Commission
and rezoning property at South 60th Avenue and Barge
from R-1, Single Family Zone, to Planned Development
• Zone.
WHEREAS, pursuant to due and legal notice, the City Council
of the City of Yakima held a hearing on the 24th day of October,
1977, upon the recommendation of the Planning Commission that real
property situated at South 60th Avenue and Barge in the City of
Yakima, Washington, the legal description of which is set out here-
inbelow, be rezoned from R-1, Single Family Zone, to Planned Develop-
ment Zone, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that such recommendation of
the Planning Commission for such rezoning should be approved for
the reasons that such rezoning is in accord with good planning and
with the General Plan of the City of Yakima; that the majority of
41 / property owners in the vicinity do not oppose the change in classi-
fication; that the needs of the City and community do require such
change and that the highest and best use of said property is for
Planned Development Zone, now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. The recommendation of the Planning Commission of
the City of Yakima that the following described real property situated
at South 60th Avenue and Barge in the City of Yakima, Washington,
and more particularly described as follows, to wit:
Beginning at a point on the east line of the northwest quar-
ter of the southwest quarter of Section 21, Township 13 North,
Range 18, E.W.M., 222.5 feet north 1 west of the southeast
corner thereof; thence north 61 west 436.94 feet to the
right-of-way of Yakima Valley Canal; thence northwesterly along
said right-of-way to the north line of said subdivision; thence
east 161 feet, more or less, to the northeast corner of said
subdivision; thence south along the east line of said subdi-
vision 1101.1 feet to the point of beginning;
EXCEPT: Beginning at the northeast corner of the above des-
cribed parcel; thence southalong the east line of the north-
west quarter of the southwest quarter of said Section 21
661.26 feet; thence west 150.5 feet; thence north 150 feet,
more or less, to the right-of-way of canal,
be rezoned from R -1, Single Family Zone, to Planned Development
Zone, be, and the same is hereby, approved and said real property
is hereby rezoned to Planned Development Zone, all in accordance
with, and to conform to, the final development plan and program •
therefor approved by the Yakima Planning Commission, a copy of
which is attached hereto and by reference made a part hereof.
Section 2. The above change in zoning shall be included and
depicted on the next regularly amended Use District Map prepared
by and for the City.
Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed
to file with the Yakima County Auditor a certified copy of this
ordinance.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
thirty days after its passage, approval and publication as provided
by law and by the City Charter.
