AN ORDINANCE accepting the recommendation of the Planning Commis
sion and rezoning property located north of "A" Street
between 6th Street and 8th Street in the City of Yakima,
from R-3, Multiple-Family Zone, to Planned Development
111 Zone.
WHEREAS, pursuant to due and legal notice, the City Council of
the City of Yakima held a hearing on the 26th day of January, 1976,
upon the recommendation of the Planning Commission that real property
situated north of "A" Street between 6th Street and 8th Street in
the City of Yakima, Washington, the legal description of which is
set out hereinbelow, be rezoned from R-3, Multiple-Family Zone, to
Planned Development Zone, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that such recommendation of the
Planning Commission for such rezoning should be approved for the
reasons that such rezoning is in accord with good planning and with
0 the General Plan of the City of Yakima; that the majority of property
owners in the vicinity do not oppose the change in classification;
that the needs of the City and community do require such change
and that the highest and best use of said property is for Planned
Development Zone, now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. The recommendation of the Planning Commission of the
City of Yakima that the following described real property situated
north of "A" Street between 6th Street and 8th Street in the City
of Yakima, Washington, and more particularly described as follows,
to wit:
The North half of East "A" Street beginning at the center-
line of the alley between 6th Street and 7th Street; thence
East to the centerline of 8th Street;
All of 7th Street starting from the North ,boundary of East
"A" Street; thence North 100 feet;
The West half of North 8th Street starting from the North
boundary of East "A" Street; thence North 50 feet;
Lots 1 and 2, Block 129, Huson's Addition to Yakima,
including that area West of said lots to the centerline
of the alley between 6th Street and 7th Street;
Lots 15 and 16, Block 149, Huson's Addition to Yakima,
including that area East of said lots to the centerline
of the alley between 7th Street and 8th Street;
Lot 1, Block 149, Huson's Addition to Yakima, including that
area West of said lot to the centerline of the alley
• between 7th Street and 8th Street;
be rezoned from R-3, Multiple-Family Zone, to Planned Development Zone
be, and the same is hereby, approved and said real property is hereby
rezoned to a Planned Development Zone, all in acccordance with, and
to conform to, the final development plan and program therefor approved
by the Yakima Planning Commission, a copy of which is attached hereto
and by reference made a part hereof.
Section 2. The above change in zoning shall be included and
depicted on the next regularly amended Use District Map prepared by
and for the City.
Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed
to file with the Yakima County Auditor a certified copy of this
ordinance.
Section 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
thirty days after its passage, approval and publication as provided
by law and by the City Charter.
