AN ORDINANCE relating to city personnel; specifying the rate of accrual of vacation leave for certain city employees; amending Subsection 2.40.020 A of the City of Yakima Municipal Code; and declaring an emergency. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAZAMA: Section I. Subsection 2.40.020 A of the City of Yakima Munici- pal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "2.40.020 Vacation leave. A. Rate of accrual of vacation leave. Commencing January 1, 1976, each eligible employee, except fire department employees, shall earn vacation leave at the following hourly rates for each full calendar month of service: 1. Employees with less than three years of service shall earn six and sixty-seven hundredths hours; 2. Employees with three years or more but less than six years of service shall earn eight hours; 3. Employees with six or more but less than ten years of service shall earn nine and thirty-three hundredths 411 hours; 4. Employees with ten or more but less than fifteen years of service shall earn twelve hours; 5. Employees with more than fifteen years shall earn fourteen hours." Section 2. This ordinance is one to provide for the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare of the people of the City of Yakima and an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage, approval and publication as provided by law and by the City Charter.
