AN ORDINANCE : accepting the recommendation.of the Planning Commis-
sion and rezoning property situated at 1008 South.
Third rAv'PPA4Q, Yakima, Washington, from R-2, Two-
Family- Zone, to B-2, Local Business Zone.
WHEREAS, pursuant to due notice, the City.Council of the,City
of Yakima held a hearing on July 22, 1974, upon the recommendation
'of the Planning Commission that real property situated at 1008
South Third Avenue, Yakima, Washington, the legal description of
which is set out hereinbelow, be rezoned from R-2, Two-Family
Zone, to B-2, LOcal.,Business Zone, and,
• WHEREAS, the City,Council finds that such recommendation of
the Planning Commission for rezoning should be approved for
the reasons that such rezoning is in accord with good planning
and' with the General Plan of the City of Yakima; that the majority
of property owners in the vicinity do not oppose the change in
classification; that the needs of the City and Community:do-re-
- quire such change and that the highest and best use of said pro-
perty is for B-2, Local Business. Zone, now, therefore,
• BE IT ORDAINED BY THE_CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. The recommendation of the:Planning Commission
Of the City of Yakima that the following described, real property
situated at 1008 South Third Avenue, Yakima, Washington, particu-
larly described as follows:
The east 298.1 feet of Tract 5, Matterson's Acre Tracts,
as.recorded in volume "D" of Plats, page 20, records of
Yakima County, Washington, EXCEPT the west 15 feet to
the City of Yakima for street,
be rezoned from R-2, Two-Family Zone to B-2, Local Business Zone,
be, and the same is hereby, approved and said real property is
hereby rezoned to B-2, Local Business Zone.
Section 2. The above change in zoning shall be included
• and depicted on the next regularly amended Use District Map pre-
pared by and for the City.
Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed
to file with the Yakima County Auditor a certified copy of this
. .ordinance.-
Section 4. The ordinance shall be in full force and effect
thirty days after its passage, approval and publication as provided
by law and by the City Charter.
