HomeMy WebLinkAbout1974-1711 AD VALOREM TAXES. • ORDINANCE NO. /71/ AN ORDINANCE fixing and levying the amount of ad valorem taxes necessary to balance estimated revenue with estimated expenditure for the 1975 Budget for the City of Yakima. WHEREAS, pursuant to a report by the City Manager on the cur- 1, rent status of estimated revenue and estimated expenditures for the 1975 Budget for the City of Yakima, the City Council finds that the total net amount of $2,080,405 in revenue must be raised by ad valorem taxes on real and personal property within the corporate limits of the City, which amount is not in excess of the amount authorized by law to be raised from that source, now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. There is hereby fixed to be raised by general proper- ty taxes upon real and personal property within the City of Yakima the amount of $2,094,553 as reduced by Senior Citizen exemptions on special levies of $14,148, leaving a net tax revenue of $2,080,405, 410 which amount, when added to the estimated available revenues from all other sources, will balance the estimated revenues with the estimated expenditures for the 1975 Budget for the City of Yakima. Section 2. There is hereby levied upon all taxable property, both real and personal, within the City of Yakima, Washington, a total of $4.386 on each thousand dollars of assessed valuation where the assessment level is 100% of such property to provide tax revenues for the following purposes: Senior Citizen Net Tax $ Levy Exemption on Revenue Per 1 000 Lev Special Levies Total - General $3.600 $1,715,301 $1,715,301 Purposes Special Tax Levies: Library Bond 111 Redemption 21,742 Street Bond Redemption 113,185 Airport Bond " 38,263 Park-Fire Bond " 191,914 Total - Special Levies .786 379,252 14,148 365,104 Total $4.386 $2,094,553 $14,148 $2,080,405 Section 3. The Clerk is directed to transmit a certified copy of this ordinance to the office of the County Commissioners of Yakima County, Washington. Section 4. This ordinance is one required to be made by the laws of the State of Washington and shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication by title as provided by the City Charter.
