ORDINANCE NO. /7..512 AN ORDINANCE relating to City personnel; adopting group insurance programs for certain City employees and providing for partial payment of premiums; designating salary ranges for Fire Department personnel; amending Subsections 2.04.010 B, 2.04.030 B, 2.04.030 C and 2.20.100 (f), all of the City of Yakima Munici- pal Code; and declaring an emergency. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. Subsection 2.04.010 B of the City of Yakima Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "2.04.010 Plan adopted. B. The dental care insurance program proposed by Dougan, Eades, Reynolds & Wheller, Inc., to be underwritten by the Great-West Life Assurance Company, is hereby accepted as the group dental care insurance program for police patrol- men and sergeants and for Fire Department employees, except the Chief and Battalion Chiefs in the Fire Department; and the City Manager and City Clerk of the City of Yakima are hereby authorized to enter into a contract with said company for such insurance." Section 2. Subsection 2.04.030 B of the City of Yakima 111 Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "2.04.030 City contributions. B. Hospital and medical insurance plan. Effective January 1, 1975, the City shall contribute the amount of $3.00 per month to apply to payment of the premium for each commissioned police officer above the rank of sergeant and for the Chief and Battalion Chiefs of the Fire Depart- , ment; the City shall contribute the amount of $20.49 per month to apply to the payment of the premium for each member of the Fire Department who is covered by the Washington Law Enforcement Officers and Fire Fighters Retirement System and who has enrolled his dependents to be covered by the group hospital and medical plan adopted by Section 2.04.010 of this chapter; the City shall contribute $8.00 per month to apply to the payment of the premium for each commissioned police officer below the rank of lieutenant who has enrolled his dependents in such plan; the City shall contribute $18.50 to apply to payment of the premium for other person- nel in the Fire Department not covered by the Washington Law Enforcement Officers and Fire Fighters Retirement System who are enrolled in such plan; and the City shall contribute $26.92 per month to apply to the paymentof the premium for each other employee enrolled in such plan." Section 3. Subsection 2.04.030 C of the City of Yakima Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "2.04.030 City contributions. C. Dental plan. Effective January 1, 1975, the City shall contribute a maximum of $6.00 per month to apply to the payment of the premium for the dental plan adopted by Subsection 2.04.010 B of this chapter for each member of the Fire Departmentlflot covered by the Washington Law Enforcement Officers and Fire Fighters Retirement System; the City shall contribute the amount of $5.51 to apply to the payment of the premium for such plan for each mem- ber of the Fire Department covered by the Washington 11/ Law Enforcement Officers and Fire Fighters Retirement System except the Chief and Battalion Chiefs of the Fire Department; and the City shall contribute a maximum of $8.00 per month to apply to payment of the premium for such dental insurance plan for each commissioned officer in the Police Department below the rank of lieutenant." Section 4. Subsection 2.20.100 (f) of the City of Yakima Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "2.20.100 Classification and Compensation Plan. The following classification and compensation plan shall be in full force and effect as of January 1, 1975: (f) Fire. This ordinance is one to provide for the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare of the people of the City of Yakima and an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in fullforce 411 and effect immediately upon its passage, approval and publication as provided by law and by the City Charter.
