HomeMy WebLinkAbout1972-1421 ORDINANCE NO. 7!-/ AN ORDINANCE accepting the recommendation of the Planning Commission and rezoning certain property situated at South 48th Avenue and Nob Hill Boulevard in the City of Yakima, Washington, from Planned Development Zone to R -1, Single Family Zone. WHEREAS) pursuant to due and legal notice, the City Council of the City of Yakima held a hearing on the 26th day of June, 1972, upon the recommendation of the Planning Commission that real property situated at South 48th Avenue and Nob Hill Boulevard within the City of Yakima, Washington, the legal description of which is set out here - inbelow, be rezoned from Planned Development Zone to R -1, Single Family Zone, and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that such recommendation of the Planning Commission for such rezoning should be approved for the reasons that such rezoning is in accord with good planning and with the General Plan of the City of Yakima; that the majority of property owners in the vicinity do not oppose the change in classification; • that the needs of the City and community do require st:ch change and that the highest and best use of said property is for R -1, Single Family Zone, now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. The recommendation of the Planning Commission of the City of Yakima that the following described real property situated at South 48th Avenue and Nob Hill Boulevard in the City of Yakima, Wash- ington, and more particularly described as follows, to wit: The south 710 feet of the north 1220.4 feet of the following described property: Beginning at the northwest corner of the southwest quarter of Section 27, Township 13 North, Range 18, E.W.M.; thence north 89 ° 00' east 799.77 feet; thence South 0 ° 13' west 206 feet along the west right of way line of South 46th • Avenue according to the Plat of Fairbrook Addition recorded in Volume "U" of Plats page 48, records of Yakima County, Wash - ington; thence south 89 ° 00' west 350.51 feet; thence south 1 ° 09' east 456.75 feet; thence south 1 ° 13' west 557.95 feet; thence north 89 ° 01' east 292.39 feet; thence south 1 ° 13' west 191.20 feet; thence south 60 ° 00' east 299.65 feet; thence south 38 ° 50' east 187.70 feet, to the southeast corner of said plat; thence southeasterly along the southwest line and southwest line extended of Lot 6 of Meyers Plat No. 2 recorded in Volume "Q" of Plats, page 14, records of Yakima County, Washington, to its intersection with the east line of the west half of the .southwest quarter of Section 27, Township 13 North, Range 18, E.W.M.; thence 411 southerly along said east line to the south line of said subdivi- sion; thence westerly along said south line to the west line of said subdivision; thence northerly along said west line to the point of beginning; be rezoned from Planned Development Zone to R-1, Single Family Zone, be, and the same is hereby, approved and said real property is hereby rezoned to R-1, Single Family Zone. Section 2. The above change in zoning shall be included and depicted on the next regularly amended Use District Map prepared by and for the City. Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to file with the Yakima County Auditor a certified copy of this ordinance. Section 4.
