HomeMy WebLinkAbout1972-1429 ORDINANCE NO. / 27 AN ORDINANCE authorizing a temporary loan of $12,000 from 463- Water- Sewer Fund to 171 - Airport Fund, and providing for repay- ment;.and appropriating the amount of $12,000 for expen- diture from 171- Airport Fund. • WHEREAS, 463- Water -Sewer Fund of the City of Yakima currently contains cash in excess of $12,000 available for investment by making the loan provided by this ordinance, and WHEREAS, the amount of $12,000 must be loaned to and appropriated in 171 - Airport Fund to provide funds for installing security fencing at the Yakima Air Terminal, and WHEREAS, the City Council finds it to be in the best interests of the City to make a temporary loan, as authorized by this ordinance, to be repaid with interest as provided herein, and WHEREAS, at the time of the adoption of the 1972 Budget it could not reasonably have been foreseen that such additional appropriation III would be required; and the City Council finds that an emergency exists of the type contemplated by R.C.W. 35.33.091 and that it is in the best interests of the City to make the appropriation herein provided, now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. The amount of $12,000 is hereby authorized to be transferred and loaned from 463- Water -Sewer Fund to 171 - Airport Fund, said loan to be repaid to 463- Water -Sewer Fund from 171 - Airport Fund on or before August 1, 1973, together with interest at the rate of 6% per annum. Section 2. As the loan authorized by Section 1 of this ordinance • is accomplished, the amount of $12,000 is hereby appropriated from un- appropriated money in 171- Airport Fund to Account 171.543.31.63, Improvements Other Than Buildings, of the 1972 appropriation for 171 - Airport Fund. Section 3. The Director of Finance and the City Treasurer of the City of Yakima are hereby authorized and directed to make the necessary transfers to carry out the provisions of this ordinance. Section 4. This ordinance is one making an appropriation and shall take effect immediately upon its passage, approval and publica- tion as provided by law and by the City Charter.
