AN ORDINANCE accepting the recommendation of the Planning Commission
and rezoning certain property situated at 66 West Mead
Avenue in the City of Yakima, Washington, from R -2, Two
Family Zone, to M -1, Light Industrial Zone, and declaring
an emergency.
WHEREAS, hearings have previously been held by the Planning Com-
mission of the City of Yakima on the application of Delmar and Beverly

Jean Edler to rezone property at 66 West Mead Avenue in the City of
Yakima, Washington, which property is legally described below, from
R -2, Two Family Zone, to M -1, Light Industrial Zone, and
WHEREAS, as a result of the most recent review by the Planning
Commission of such application, the Planning Commission has recommended
to the City Council that such application for rezone be approved, and
WHEREAS, on October 24, 1972, the City Council held a further
hearing on such application and on the recommendation of the Planning
Commission, and as a result of such hearing finds that to grant the
rezone sought would be in accord with good planning and with the
General Plan of the City of Yakima, and that the highest and best use
for said property is for M -1, Light Industrial Zone, now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. The application of Delmar and Beverly Jean Edler to
rezone property at 66 West Mead Avenue in the City of Yakima, Washing-
ton, legally described as follows:
Lots 1 and 2 of T. J. Hackett Addition, as recorded in Volume "I"
of Plats, page 40, records of Yakima County, Washington;
from R -2, Two Family Zone, to M -1, Light Industrial Zone, is hereby
granted; and said property is hereby zoned as M -1, Light Industrial
Zone.
• Section 2. The above change in zoning shall be included and
depicted on the next regularly amended Use District Map prepared by
and for the City.
Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
file with the Yakima County Auditor a certified copy of this ordinance.
Section 4. This ordinance is one to provide for the immediate
preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare
of the people of the City of Yakima and an emergency is hereby
declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect
0 immediately upon its passage, approval and publication as provided by
law and by the City Charter.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, signed and approved this 24th day of
October, 1972.
