HomeMy WebLinkAbout1970-1240 ORDINANCE NO. / / ; 240 AN ORDINANCE providing for the vacation of a portion of public alley in the City of Yakima, Washington. WHEREAS, a petition has been filed with the City Council of the City of Yakima requesting the vacation of the hereinafter described portion of alley, and WHEREAS, a hearing by the City Council was duly held on said petition, and as a result of such hearing the City Council finds it to be in the best interests of the City of Yakima that said petition be granted and that said portion of alley be vacated, now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA : Section 1. The following described portion of alley in the City of Yakima, Washington, to-wit: That portion of Parcel "A" described as follows: Beginning at the southeast corner of Parcel "A "; thence westerly along the south line of said Parcel "A" a distance of 84 feet to the southwest corner of Parcel "A "; thence northerly along the west line of Parcel "A" a distance of 4110 4 feet; thence northeasterly to a point on the east line of Parcel "A" said point being 8 feet north of the southeast corner of Parcel "A"; thence southerly along the east line of Parcel "A" a distance of 8 feet to the point of beginning, except westerly 4 feet. Parcel "A" Beginning at a point 40 rods north of the southwest corner of the northwest quarter of the northwest quarter of Section 24, Township 13 North, Range 18, E.W.M.; thence east 272 feet to the true point of beginning; thence south 188 feet; thence east 124 feet, more or less to the west line of Tennant & Miles West Modern Addition to North Yakima (now Yakima), as recorded in Volume "B" of Plats, page 25, records of Yakima County, Washington; thence north along the west line of said Addition, a distance of 188 feet; thence west to the point of beginning; EXCEPT the west 40 feet thereof and EXCEPT the north 40 feet; be, and the same is hereby, vacated. Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty days after its passage, approval and publication as provided by law and by the City Charter. Section 11.44.070 of the City of Yakima Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "11.44.070 Addition of New Section Z.13 to Uniform Plumbing Code. There is hereby added to Part 2, 'Qualification of Plumbers', of the Uniform Plumbing Code, adopted by this Chapter, following Section 2.12, a new Section Z. 13 to read as follows: 'Section 2. 13--Bonds and Insurance--Specified. The surety bonds and insurance required of Plumbing Contractors and Sidesewer Contractors shall be as follows: (a) Bonds. Surety bonds shall be in the sum of Two Thousand Dollars for each establishment or place of business maintained within the City of Yakima by any person, firm or corporation engaged in such businesses, payable to the City of Yakima for the use and benefit of said City, and any and all persons dealing with the licensee or his agents in his capacity. as Plumbing Contractor or Sidesewer Contractor, and shall be executed by the licensee and by a surety company authorized to do business in the State of Washington, which bond shall be con- ditioned that the licensee and his agents shall fully comply with all provisions of law relating to plumbing and/or sewers, and that any person injured by failure to comply therewith may have a right of action on said bond in his own name, and also against the principal for any violation of, or failure to comply with said provisions of law. The total and aggregate liability of the surety under such bond shall in no event exceed the sum of Two Thousand Dollars. (b) Insurance. Public liability and property damage 41111 insurance and products liability insurance shall be provided in an amount of not less than $10, 000 for each person and $20, 000 for each incident for personal injury, and $10, 000 for property damage for each incident of liability. ' " Section 3. Section 11.44.090 of the City of Yakima Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "11.44. 090 Addition of New Section 2.15 to Uniform Plumbing Code. There is hereby added to Part 2, 'Qualifications of Plumbers', of the Uniform Plumbing Code, adopted by this Chapter, following Section 2.14, a new Section 2.15 to read as follows: 'Section 2. 15--License Procurement and Fees. Original and renewal licenses may be issued by the City Clerk to any applicant who holds a valid Certificate of Qualification or Registration, as provided for in this Chapter or whose application is approved by the Inspection Division. License fees shall be paid to the City of Yakima at time of issuance in accordance with the following schedule: Original Renewal Plumbing Contractor's License $ 100.00 $ 100.00 Journeyman Plumber's License 10.00 10.00 Side-Sewer Contractor's License 50.00 50.00 Journeyman Sewer Installer's License 10.00 10.00 Licenses expire on December 31st of each year. " -2- Section 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty days after its passage, approval and publication as provided by law and by the City Charter.
