AN ORDINANCE annexing property to the City of Yakima and zoning said
property.
WHEREAS, proceedings have been held in accordance with all
41 0 applicable laws for the annexation to the City of Yakima the
property hereinafter described, and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Yakima duly
held a public hearing on the zoning of said property hereinafter
described and annexed and, as a result of said hearing, duly recom-
mended that said property be annexed to the City of Yakima and zoned
as hereinafter specified, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to due and legal notice the City Council
held a public hearing on said annexation on September 8, 1970, and,
as a result thereof, finds that such property should be annexed to
the City of Yakima and further finds that the property should be
0 zoned as hereinafter set forth for the reasons that such zoning and
classification is in accord with good planning and with the General
Plan of the City of Yakima, that the majority of the property owners
in the vicinity do not oppose the classification or the annexation,
that the needs of the City and community do require: the hereinafter
set forth zoning classification, and that the highest and best use
for said property is as hereinafter determined, now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. Effective November 4, 1970, the following described
property contiguous to the City of Yakima is hereby annexed to the
City of Yakima, Washington:
Beginning at a point on the east line of the northwest quarter
of the southwest quarter of Section 32, Township 13 North,
Range 19, E.W.M., said point being 540.75 feet north of the
southeast corner of the northwest quarter of the southwest
quarter, thence south along said west line to a point 56.3
feet south of said southeast corner, thence east 195.7 feet,
thence south 188.7 feet, thence west 195.7 feet to the east
line of the southwest quarter of the southwest quarter of
Section 32, Township 13 North, Range 19, E.W.M., thence south
along said east line to a point 940 feet north of the southeast
corner of the stathwest quarter of the southwest quarter
of Section 32, Township 13 North, Range 19, E.W.M., ( thence
west to a point of intersection with a line which is parallel
to and 100 feet westerly when measured at right angles to
the westerly right of way line of South 1st Street) thence
northwesterly along said parallel line to its intersection
with the north line of the southwest quarter of the southwest
• quarter of Section 32, Township 13 North, Range 19, E.W.M.,
thence westerly along said north line to its intersection
with the south line and the south line extended southwesterly
of Lot 13 of Forney Subdivision as recorded in Volume "I"
of plats, page 23, records of Yakima County, Washington, thence
northeasterly along said south line to the southeast corner
of said Lot 13; thence northeasterly to the southwest corner
of the following described property:
Beginning at a point on the east line of the northwest
quarter of the southwest quarter of Section 32, Township
13 North, Range 19 E.W.M., in Yakima County, 540.75 feet
north of the southeast corner of said subdivision; thence
north 45 feet; thence west 570.5 feet, more or less, to
the east line of the right of way line of South 1st Street;
thence southeasterly 170 feet along said east line; thence
northeasterly to the point of beginning;
thence northeasterly to the southeast corner of said property,
said southeast corner being the point of beginning.
Section 2. The owners of the hereinbefore described
410 real property annexed to the City of Yakima shall be required to

assume existing indebtednesses of the City of Yakima.
Section 3. In accordance with the recommendations of the
Planning Commission of the City of Yakima, effective at the time of
its annexation, said property is hereby zoned as follows:
(a) The following property is hereby zoned as M -1, Light
Industrial Zone:
The north 255.75 feet of the south 585.75 feet of that part
of the northwest quarter of the southwest quarter of Section
32, Township 13 North, Range 19, E.W.M., lying east of the
right of way line of South 1st Street except beginning 540.75
feet north of the southeast corner of the northwest quarter
of the southwest quarter of Section 32, Township 13 North,
Range 19, E.W.M.; thence north 45 feet, thence west to the
• right of way line of South 1st Street, thence southerly along
the right of way line of South 1st Street 170 feet, thence
northeasterly to beginning.
(b) All of the property hereby annexed to the City of Yakima
as described in Section 1 hereof is hereby zoned as B -3, General
Business Zone, except for that portion thereof zoned M -1, Light Indus-
trial Zone, as described and provided in Section 3 (a) hereof.

Section 4. The next regularly amended Use District Map prepared
by and for the City of Yakima shall show said property as hereinbefoE
zoned and classified.
41 , Section S. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
file a certified copy of this ordinance with the County Auditor of
Yakima County and the Board of County Commissioners of Yakima County.
Section 6. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect
thirty days after its passage, approval and publication as provided
by law and by the City Charter.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, signed and approved this 8th day of
September, 1970.
