HomeMy WebLinkAbout1971-1295 V' ORDINANCE NO. 1295 AN ORDINANCE appropriating money within 382-Cumulative Reserve Fund For Capital Improvements for transfer to 131-Parks and Recreation Fund and authorizing such transfer; and appropriating money to various classifications and accounts within the 1971 appropriation for 131-Parks and Recreation Fund. WHEREAS, money is available in 382-Cumulative Reserve Fund For Capital Improvements for appropriation therein and for transfer to 131-Parks and Recreation Fund to pay for capital improvements consist- ing of architectural studies of Randall Park, Franklin Park, Miller Park, Washington Park and a Senior Citizens Center for the Parks and Recreation Department, all as contemplated and authorized by this ordi- nance in accordance with applicable budget laws, including Chapter 3.80, "Cumulative Reserve Fund For Capital Improvements", of the City of Yakima Municipal Code, and WHEREAS, unappropriated money is or will be available for appro- priation to various classifications and accounts within 131-Parks and ID Recreation Fund as contemplated and authorized by this ordinance, and WHEREAS, the amount of $5,000 is required to be appropriated within 131-Parks and Recreation Fund to pay the balance of a loan from the Bank of Yakima to the Metropolitan Park District of Yakima, which loan was assumed as an obligation of the City of Yakima at the time of the dissolution of the Metropolitan Park District; and the amount of $13,500 is required to be appropriated within 131-Parks and Recreation Fund to pay for completion of park projects contiguous to the Southeast Community Center, and • WHEREAS, at the time of the adoption of the 1971 Budget, it could not reasonably have been foreseen that the transfer and appropriations III provided for herein would be required, and the City Council finds that the best interests of the City require that such transfer and appropri- ations be made, now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. The amount of $13,000 is hereby appropriated within i 382- Cumulative Reserve Fund for Capital Improvements for transfer to 131 -Parks and Recreation Fund for appropriation therein to pay for architectural studies of Randall Park, Franklin Park,, Miller Park, Washington Park and Senior Citizens Center. Section 2. The amount of $13,000, appropriated by Section 1 of 110 this ordinance, is hereby transferred from 382 - Cumulative Reserve Fund , For Capital Improvements to 131 -Parks and Recreation Fund for the pur .pose mentioned in Section 1 of this ordinance.' Section 3. The. amount of $13,000 so transferred to 131 -Parks and Recreation Fund is hereby appropriated to Account 533.20.65 of the Capital Outlay classification of the 1971 appropriation for 131 -Parks and Recreation Fund. Section 4. The amount of $5,000 is hereby appropriated from un- appropriated money in 131 -Parks and Recreation Fund to Account 533.30.71, and the amount of $400 is hereby appropriated from un- appropriated money in that fund to Account 533.30.72, both of which III accounts are in the Debt Service classification, ll of h n f t e 1971 appropriation for 131 -Parks and Recreation, Fund. Section 5. The amount of $13,500 is hereby appropriated from un- appropriated money in 131 -Parks and Recreation Fund to Account . 533.20.63 within the Capital Outlay classification of the 1971 appro- priation for 131 - :arks and Recreation Fund. Section 6. The Director of Finance and City Treasurer of the City of Yakima are hereby authorized to make the necessary transfers to carry out this ordinance. Section 7. This ordinance is one making an appropriation and shall take effect immediately upon its passage, approval and publica- tion as provided by law and by the City Charter.
