AN ORDINANCE fixing and levying the amount of ad valorem taxes neces- sary to balance estimated revenue with estimated expendi- tures for the 1972 Budget for the City of Yakima; and amending Ordinance No. 1346, passed October 4, 1971, entitled "AN ORDINANCE fixing and levying the amount of ad valorem taxes necessary to balance estimated revenue with estimated expenditures for the 1972 Budget for the City of Yakima". WHEREAS, City of Yakima Ordinance No. 1346, entitled "AN ORDINANCE fixing and levying the amount of ad valorem taxes necessary to balance estimated revenueutth estimated expenditures for the 1972 Budget for the City of Yakima" was passed by the Yakima City Council on October 4, 1971, which ordinance fixed and levied ad valorem taxes based on infor mation and estimates known at that time relative to the assessed value of property within the City, the amounts of exemptions, and the rate of the tax fixed and levied by the City by that ordinance, and WHEREAS, revised information from the office of the Yakima County Assessor relative to the assessed valuation of property, exemptions and relief from taxes to be afforded to certain persons under applicable laws, and activity of the County Board of Equalization, as well as recent information relative to the valuation of utilities-by the State of Washington, now requires the City of Yakima to make adjustments to the fixing and levying of ad valorem taxes fcr the year 1972, and • WHEREAS, pursuant to a report by the City Manager on the current status of estimated revenue and estimated expenditures for the 1972 Bud". get for the City of Yakima, the City Council finds that the total net amount of $1,610,081 in revenue mist be raised by ad valorem taxes on real and personal property within the corporate limits of the City, which amount is not in excess of the amount authorized by law to be raised from that source, now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. Section 1 of the aforesaid Ordinance No. 1346 is here- by amended to read as follows: "Section 1. There is hereby fixed to be raised by general property taxes upon real and personal property within the City of i Yakima the amount of $1,650,188 as reduced by estimated exemptions in the amount of $40,107, leaving a net tax revenue of $1,610,081, which amount, when added to the estimated available revenues from all other sources, will balance the estimated revenues with the estimated expenditures for the 1972 Budget for the City of Yaki- ma." Section 2. Section 2 of the aforesaid Ordinance No. 1346 is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 2. The City Clerk is directed to transmit a certified copy of this ordinance to the office of the County Commissioners of Yakima County, Washington. 110 Section 4. This ordinance is one required to be made by the laws q y of the State of Washington and shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval and publication by title as provided by the City Charter.
