HomeMy WebLinkAbout1972-1376 ORDINANCE NO. /397.r AN ORDINANCE authorizing a temporary loan of $65,000 from 463-Water- Sewer Fund to 332-Fire Capital Fund and providing for repayment; and appropriating $65,000 from unappropriated money in 332-Fire Capital Fund to Account 522.50.61, Land, of the 1972 appropriation for that fund. WHEREAS, 463-Water-Sewer Fund contains unappropriated money III available for investment by the temporary loan authorized by this ordinance, and WHEREAS, the amount of $65,000 must be loaned to and appropriated in 332-Fire Capital Fund so that the City may acquire a fire station site; and at the time of the adoption of the 1972 Budget it could not have reasonably been foreseen that such additional appropriation would be required; and the City Council finds that an emergency exists of the type contemplated in R.C.W. 35.33.091 and that it is in the best interests of the City to make the appropriation herein pro- vided, now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: II/ Section 1. The amount of $65,000 is hereby loaned from un appropriated money in 463-Water-Sewer Fund to 332-Fire Capital Fund, such loan to be repaid from 332-Fire Capital Fund to 463-Water-Sewer Fund on or before July 1, 1972, with interest at 5% per annum. Section 2. As the loan is made, as authorized by Section 1 of this ordinance, the $65,000 so loaned to 332-Fire Capital Fund is hereby appropriated to Account 522.50.61, Land, of the 1972 appropria- tion for such fund. Section 3. The Director of Finance and the City Treasurer of the City of Yakima are hereby authorized and directed to make the necessary transfers to carry out this ordinance. Section 4. This ordinance is one making an appropriation and shall take effect immediately upon its passage, approval and publica- tion as provided by law and by the City Charter.
