WHEREAS, the City of Yakima has declared its intention to vacate a portion of South 6th Street within the City of Yakima, as hereinafter more fully described, and • WHEREAS, a hearin by the Cit Council was duly held on said pro - hearing y City Y posed vacation on March 9, 1970, which hearing was continued to March 16, 1970, and as a result of such hearing the City Council finds it to be in the best interests of the City of Yakima that said street be vacated, now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. The following described street in the City of Yakima, Washington, to -wit: South 6th Street - Beginning at the Southeast corner of Lot 16, of Fairchild Acre Tracts according to the plat thereof recorded in Volume "A" of Plats, page 115, records of Yakima County, Washington; thence northerly along the east line of Lot 16 to the Northeast corner of said Lot 16; thence easterly 50 feet to the . Northwest corner of Lot 1 of said plat of Fairchild Acre Tracts; thence Southerly 88.64 feet along the west line of said Lot 1; thence Southwesterly to a point 25 feet easterly of the Southeast corner of said Lot 16. Said point being on the south line of said Lot 16 extended; thence Westerly 25 feet to the point of beginning. Except the North 15 feet; be, and the same is hereby, vacated. Section 2. The City of Yakima hereby reserves all . necessary ease- ments and rights -of -way for the installation and maintenance of any and all water mains, sewers or utilities of any and all kinds which may now exist in said street or which it may hereafter desire to construct thereon, and no buildings shall be constructed on any portion of said vacated street without the prior approval of the City. Section 3. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect 41/ thirty days after its passage, approval and publication as provided by law and by the City Charter.
