HomeMy WebLinkAbout1968-992 ORDINANCE NO. _2 AN ORDINANCE accepting the recommendation of the Planning Commission and rezoning certain property situated at 1013 South 28th Avenue, in the City of Yakima, Washington, from R -2, Two Family Zone, to R -3, Multiple Family Zone, and declaring an emergency. WHEREAS, pursuant to due and legal notice, the City Council of 46 the City of Yakima held a hearing on the 22nd day of January, 1968, upon the recommendation of the Planning Commission that real property situated at 1013 South 28th Avenue, within the City of Yakima, Wash- ington, the legal description of which is set out hereinbelow, be rezoned from R -2, Two Family Zone, to R -3, Multiple Family Zone, and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that such recommendation of the Planning Commission for such rezoning should be approved for the rea- sons that such rezoning is in accord with good planning and with the General Plan of the City of Yakima; that the majority of property owners in the vicinity do not oppose the change in classification; that the needs of the City and community do require such change and • that the highest and best use of said property is for multi7le family lone ournoses, now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. The recommendation of the Planning Commission of the City of Yakima that the following described real property situated at 1013 South 28th Avenue in the City of Yakima, Washington, and more particularly described as follows, to -wit: The North 101.2 feet of Lot 15, Block 1, Shannon Homes, according to the official plat thereof recorded in Volume "H" of Plats, Page 31, records of the Auditor of Yakima County, Washington; be rezoned from R -2, Two Family Zone, to R -3, Multiple Family Zone, be, and the same is hereby, approved and said real property is hereby rezoned, o R .3 Multiple .Famil Zone. � � Family Section 2. The above change in zoning shall be included and de- picted on the next regularly amended Use District Map prepared by and for the City. Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directiA to file with the Yakima County Auditor a certified copy of this ordinance. Section .4. This ordinance is one to provide for the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare of the people of the City of Yakima and an emergency is hereby declared to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immedia:e- Aft IMP ly upon its passage, approval and publication as provided by law and by the City Charter.
