HomeMy WebLinkAbout1968-995 ORDINANCE NO. l AN ORDINANCE accepting the recommendation of the Planning Commission and rezoning certain property situated on the east side of North 9th Street between "A" Street and East Yakima Avenue, in the City of Yakima, Washington, from R -3, Multiple Family Zone, to B -3, General Business Zone. WHEREAS, pursuant to due and legal notice, the City Council of • the City of Yakima held a hearing on the 29th day of January, 1968, upon the recommendation of the Planning Commission that real property situated on the east side of North 9th Street between "A" Street and East Yakima Avenue, within the City of Yakima, Washington, the legal description of which is set out hereinbelow, be rezoned from R -3, Multiple Family Zone, to B -3, General Business Zone, and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that such recommendation of the Planning Commission for such rezoning should be approved for the rea- sons that such rezoning is in accord with good planning and with the General Plan of the City of Yakima; that the majority of property owners in the vicinity do not oppose the change in classification; that the needs of the City and community do require such change and that the highest and best use of said property is for general business purposes, now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. The recommendation of the Planning Commission of the City of Yakima that the following described real property situated on the east side of North 9th Street between "A" Street and East Yakima Avenue, in the City of Yakima, Washington, and more particularly de- scribed as follows, to -wit: Parcel A: Lots 4 through 13, Block 190 Huson's Addition to North Yakima (now Yakima) according to the official plat thereof recorded in Volume "A" of Plats, page 11, records of Yakima County, Washington. Parcel B: Lots 1 and 2, Larrison's Addition to North Yakima (now Yakima) according to the official plat thereof recorded in Volume "A" of Plats, page 79, records of Yakima County, Washington. EXCEPT the southerly 150 feet of said Lots 1 and 2. Parcel C: Commencing at the northwest corner of Lot 1 Larri- son's Addition to North Yakima, (now Yakima) according to the official plat thereof recorded in Volume "A" of Plats, page 79, records of Yakima County, Washington; thence east along the north line of said Lot 1 and extended, of Larrison's Addi- tion a distance of 209 feet; thence north 40 feet; thence west 209 feet; thence south 40 feet more or less to the point of beginning; be rezoned from R-3, Multiple Family Zone, to B-3, General Business Zone, be, and the same is hereby, approved and said real property is hereby rezoned, to B-3, General Business Zone. Section 2. The above change in zoning shall be included and de- picted on the next regularly amended Use District Map prepared by and for the City. Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to file with the Yakima County Auditor a certified copy of this ordinance. Section 4. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty days after its passage, approval and publication as provided by law and by the City Charter.
