AN ORDINANCE relating to licenses and business regulation; prohibiting
public dances and dancing in cabarets during certain
hours and making exceptions to such prohibitions; and
amending Subsection 5.28.140 (1) of the City of Yakima
Municipal Code.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. Subsection 5.28.140 (1) of the City of Yakima
Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
"5.28.140 General Rules and Regulations.
(1) All public dances and dancing in zabarets shall
cease at two o'clock A.M. on all nights, and no public
dancing, including dancing in cabarets, shall be permitted
between two o'clock A.M. and eight o'clock A.M. of any
day; provided, that no public dances or dancing in
cabarets shall be permitted on Sunday after two o'clock
A.M., except that such dances and dancing shall be per -
mitted on Sunday between the hours of two o'clock P.M.
and ten o'clock P.M.; provided further, that notwithstand-
ing the provisions of this subsection, in the event
• December 31 of any year falls on a Sunday, public dancing
and dancing in cabarets may commence at, but not before,
two o'clock P.M. on that day, and, regardless of the day
of the week, such dancing may continue until, but
not after, 3:00 A.M. on New Years Day."
Section 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
thirty days after its passage, approval and publication as provided
by law and by the City Charter.
ADOPTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL this 7th day of October, 1968.
