AN ORDINANCE providing for the annexation by the City of Yakima of
certain property contiguous to the City of YriVim.a wta
zoning the same as R-I, One-Family Zone.
WHEREAS, proceedings have been held in accordance with Chapter
128 of the Laws of 1945, as amended, and Chapter 282 of the Laws of
41O 1961 for the annexation of the property hereinafter described, and
WHEREAS, at a regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Commis-
sion of the City of Yakima, a hearing was held pursuant to legal
notice upon the zoning and land use classification of said property
hereinafter described and annexed, and
WHEREAS, said Planning Commission duly recommended that said
property be annexed to the City of Yakima and recommended that said
property be zoned R-I, One-Family Zone.
WHEREAS, said proposed area to be annexed to the City of Yakima
is less than ten acres in area and less than $200,000.00 in assessed
valuation, and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 282, Laws
of 1961, the Mayor of the City of Yakima, the Chairman of the Board c
County Commissioners of Yakima County, and the County Superintendent
of Schools of Yakima County have all been apprised of the petition
and have agreed that a review proceeding as provided in said Chapter
282 is not necessary for the protection of the interests of the vario
parties, and that such review procedures should be dispensed with, an
WHEREAS, pursuant to due and legal notice as provided by law one
City Charter, a public hearing was had upon said petition for annexa-
tion before the City,Council of the City of Yakima on the 24th day o
October, 1966, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that such property should be

annexed to the City of Yakima and further finds that the recommenda-
tion of the Planning Commission for the zoning and land use classifi
cation of said property should be approved for the reasons that such
zoning and classification are in accordance with good planning and
with the Comprehensive Plan of the City of Yakima, that the majority
of the property owners in the vicinity are in favor of the zoning
classification and the annexation, that the needs of the City and

community do require the hereinafter set forth zoning classification,
and that the highest and best use for said property is as hereinafter
determined, now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. That the following described property contiguous to
the City of Yakima, Washington, to -wit:
Beginning at the intersection of the centerline of Engle -
wood Avenue and the centerline of North 58th Avenue running
north from Englewood Avenue; thence north along the center-
line of North 58th Avenue 287.5 feet; thence north 89 °17'10"
west 175.7 feet, more or Tess, to the west Fine of Tract 49
of State Addition to the City of North Yakima No. 2 (now
Yakima), according to the official plat thereof recorded in
Volume "F" of Plats, page I1, records of Yakima County, Wash-
ington; thence south 0 °42'50` east along the west line, and
the west line extended of said Tract 49, to the centerline
of Englewood Avenue; thence east along the centerline of
Englewood Avenue to the point of beginning;,
is hereby annexed to the City of Yakima, Washington.
Section 2. That the owners of the hereinbefore described real
• property annexed to the City of Yakima shall be required to assume
existing indebtednesses of the City of Yakima.
Section 3. That in accordance with the recommendations of the
Planning Commission of the City of Yakima, said property is hereby
zoned as R -I, One - Family Zone.
Section 4. That the next regularly amended Use District Map
prepared by and for the City of Yakima shall show said property as
hereinbefore zoned and classified.
Section 5. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
file a certified copy of this ordinance with the County Auditor of
Yakima County and the Board of County Commissioners of Yakima County.
• Section 6. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect 30

days after its final passage, approval and publication, as provided
by law and by the City Charter.
