ORDINANCE NO. ,.F/
AN ORDINANCE providing for the anpexation by the City of Yakima of
certain property contiguous to the City of Yakima and
zoning the same as R-2, Two-Family Zone.
WHEREAS, proceedings have been held in accordance with Chapter
128 of the Laws of 1945, as amended, and Chapter 282 of the Laws of
1961 for the annexation of the property hereinafter described, and
WHEREAS, at a regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Commis-
sion of the City of Yakima, a hearing was held pursuant to legal notice
upon the zoning and land use classification of said property herein-
after described and annexed, and
WHEREAS, said Planning Commission duly recommended that said
property be annexed to the City of Yakima and recommended that said
property be zoned R-2, Two-Family Zone.
WHEREAS, said proposed area to be annexed to the City of Yakima
is less than ten acres in area and less than $200,000.00 in assessed
valuation, and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 282, Laws
III of 1961, the Mayor of the City of Yakima, the Chairman of the Board of
County Commissioners of Yakima County, and the County Superintendent
of Schools of Yakima County have all been apprised of the petition
and have agreed that a review proceeding as provided in said Chapter
282 is not necessary for the protection of the interests of the various
parties, and that such review procedures should be dispensed with, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to due and legal notice as provided by law and
City Charter, a public hearing was had upon said petition for annexa-
tion before the City Council of the City of Yakima on the 24th day of
October, 1966, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that such property should be
411 annexed to the City of Yakima and further finds that the recommenda-
tion of the Planning Commission for the zoning and land use classifi-
cation of said property should be approved for the reasons that such
zoning and classification are in accordance with good planning and
with the Comprehensive Plan of the City of Yakima, that the majority
of the property owners in the vicinity are in favor of the zoning
classification and the annexation, that the needs of the City and

community do require the hereinafter set forth zoning classification,
and that the highest and best use for said property is as hereinafter
determined, now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section I. That the following described property contiguous to
410 the City of Yakima, Washington, to-wit:
Beginning at a point on the north line of Section 35, Town-
ship 13 North, Range 18, E.W.M., and 25 feet east of the
north-south subdivision line along South 18th Avenue;
westerly along said north line of Section 35, Township 13
North, Range 18, E.W.M. a distance of 278.8 feet to the
northwest corner of Lot 44, First Addition to Suburban Acre
Homes; thence southerly along the west property line of said
Lot 44 a distance of 311.15 feet to the centerl ine of Loren
Avenue; thence easterly along the centerl ine of Loren Avenue
a distance of 253.8 feet to the north-south subdivision line
along South 18th Avenue; thence northerly along said subdi-
vision line a distance of 136.15 feet; thence easterly a
distance of 25.0 feet to the east right of way line of South
18th Avenue; thence northerly along the east right of way
line of South 18th Avenue a distance of 175.0 feet to the
point of beginning;
is hereby annexed to the City of Yakima, Washington.
Section 2. That the owners of the hereinbefore described real
0 property annexed to the City of Yakima shall be required to assume
existing indebtednesses of the City of Yakima.
Section 3. That in accordance with the recommendations of the
Planning Commission of the City of Yakima, said property is hereby
zoned as R-2, Two-Family Zone.
Section 4. That the next regularly amended Use District Map pre-
pared by and for the City of Yakima shall show said property as herein-
before zoned and classified.
Section 5. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
file a certified copy of this ordinance with the County Auditor of
'Yakima County and the Board of County Commissioners of Yakima County.
Section 6. This ordinance shal 1 be in full force and effect 30
4, days after its final'passage, approval and publication, as provided by
law and by the City Charter.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, signed and approved this 24th day of
October, 1966.
