WHEREAS, proceedings have been held In accordance with all appli- cable laws for the annexation to the City of Yakima of the property hereinafter described, and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of the City of Yakima duly held a public hearing on the zoning of said property hereinafter described and annexed and, as a result of said hearing, duly recommended that said property be annexed to the City of Yakima and zoned as hereinafter specified, and WHEREAS, a hearing was duly held on such annexation by a Review Board as required by law and as a result of such hearing the Review Board made and entered its findings and recommendations with respect to such annexation and recommended to the City Council that the said property be annexed to the City of Yakima, and WHEREAS, pursuant to due and legal notice, the City Council held a public hearing on said annexation on the 13th day of February 967 ; and, as a result thereof, finds that such property should be annexed to the City of Yakima and further finds that the property should be zoned as hereinafter set forth for the reasons that such zoning and classification is in accord with good planning and with the General Plan of the City of Yakima, that the majority of the property owners in the vicinity do not oppose the classification or the annexation, that the needs of the City and community do require the hereinafter set forth zoning classification, and that the highest and best use for said property is as hereinafter determined, now, therefore, -411. BE 1TORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. The following described. property contiguous to the City of Yakima is hereby annexed to the City of Yakima, Washington: 110 Beginning at a point 293.8 feet west of the southeast corner of Block 6, Plat of Section 36, Township 13 North, Range 18, E.W.M., and on the south line of said Block 6; thence westerly along the south line of Block 6 to a point 20 feet west of the southwest corner of said Block 6, which point is on the centerline of South 12th Avenue; thence southerly along the centerline of South 12th Avenue to the south line extended of Lot 9, Block 2 of King Street Addition, according to plat thereof recorded in Volume "L" of Plats, page 43, records of Yakima County, Washington; thence easterly along the south line extended and the south line of said Lot 9 to the southeast corner of Lot 9; thence southerly along the east line of Lots 8, 7, and 6 of said Block 2 of King Street Addition to the southeast corner of said Lot 6; thence westerly along the south line of said Lot 6 a dis- tance of 9.3 feet; thence southerly and parallel with the west line of Block 11, Plat of Section 36, Township 13 North, Range 18, E.W.M. a distance of 144.9 feet to the north right of way line of St. John's Street; thence westerly along the north right of way line of St. John's Street a distance of 160.0 feet to the centerline of South 12th Avenue; thence southerly along the centerline of South 12th Avenue parallel with the west line of Blocks 11, 22, and 27, Plat of Section 36, Township 13 North, Range 18, E.W.M. to a point 30 feet south and 20 feet west of the southwest corner of said Block 27, which point is on the centerline of West Washington Avenue; thence easterly along the centerline of West Washington Avenue to a point 30 feet south of the southeast corner of said Block 27; thence northerly along the east line of Blocks 27, 22, and 11, Plat of Section 36, Township. 13 North, Range 18, E.W.M. to a point 4.0 feet north of the southeast corner of Block 11; thence westerly and parallel with the south line of said Block 11 a distance of 136.1 feet; thence northerly and parallel with the east line of Block 11 to a point 160.0 feet south of the south line of King Street Addition, accord- ing to plat thereof recorded in Volume "L" of Plats, page 43, records of Yakima County, Washington; thence easterly and parallel with the south line of Block 11, Plat of Sec- tion 36, Township 13 North, Range 18, E.W.M. a distance of 136.1 feet; thence northerly along the east line of Block 11 to the north line extended of Lot 4, Block I, of said King Street Addition; thence westerly along the north line extended and the north line of Lot 4 to the northwest corner of said Lot 4; thence northerly along the east line of Lots 8 and 9 of Block 1, King Street Addition, to the northeast corner of Lot 9; thence westerly along the north line of said Lot 9 to the northwest corner of said Lot 9; thence northerly along the west line of Lot 10, Block 1, King Street Addition, to the south line of Block 6, Plat of Sec- tion 36, Township 13 North, Range 18, E.W.M. which is the point of beginning. Section 2. That the owners of the hereinbefore described real 40 property annexed to the City of Yakima shall be required to assume existing indebtednesses of the City of Yakima. Section 3. The hereinbefore described real property annexed to the City of Yakima is hereby zoned as follows: (a) The following described property is hereby zoned as R-3, Multiple Family Zone: -2- Beginning at the southwest corner of the southeast quarter of the northwest quarter of Section 36, Township 13 North, Range 18, E.W.M., which is the intersection of the center- lines of South 12th Avenue and West Washington Avenue; thence northerly along the centerline of South 12th Avenue 157.5 feet; thence easterly and parallel to the centerline of West Washington Avenue a distance of 164.37 feet; thence southerly and parallel to the centerline of South 12th Ave- nue a distance of 157.5 feet; thence westerly along the cen- IIM terline of West Washington Avenue a distance of 164.37 feet to the point of beginning. (b) That all of the property hereby annexed to the City of Yakima as described in Section I hereof is hereby zoned as R-2, Two Family Zone, except for that portion thereof zoned R-3, MUltiple Family Zone, as described and provided in Section 3 (a) herebf. Section 4. That the next regularly amended Use District Map pre- pared by and for the City of Yakima shall show said property as here- inbefore zoned and classified. Section 5. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to file a certified copy of this ordinance with the County Auditor of Yakima County and with the Board of County Commissioners of Yakima • County, Washington. Section 6. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect 30 days after its final passage, approval and publication as provided by law and by the City Charter.
