AN ORDINANCE creating the Domestic Water Improvement Fund as a special
fund; specifying the purposes of such fund and designat-
ing the source of money therefor; creating Chapter 3.72
as a new chapter of the City of Yakima Municipal Code;
and declaring an emergency.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. There is hereby created a new chapter to the City of
• Yakima Municipal Code, to be numbered and entitled Chapter 3.72,
Domestic Water Improvement Fund, which new chapter shall read as
follows:
"Chapter 3.72
DOMESTIC WATER IMPROVEMENT FUND
Section
3.7 .010 FUND CREATED - PURPOSES.
3 7..020 SOURCE OF FUNDS
3.72.030 EXPENDITURES
3.72.010 FUND CREATED - PURPOSES. There is hereby
created a special fund to be known as the Domestic Water
Improvement Fund. The monies in said fund shall be used
to pay for expenses of engineering services, land acqui-
sition and construction, and for other expenses incidental
to the planning and construction of additions and improve-
• ments to, and new facilities for, the acquisition of water,
its treatment, transmission, and distribution, all for the
domestic water system of the City of Yakima.
3.72.020 SOURCE OF FUNDS. Proceeds from a contem-
plated issue of Domestic Water Revenue Bonds, together
with any money contributed or loaned by any governmental
agency or any other source for the purposes specified in
Section 3.72.010 above, shall be deposited in the Domestic
Water Improvement Fund as any such money becomes available.
The City Council may, from time to time, transfer or appro-
priate money from any available source into said fund.
3.72.030 EXPENDITURES. Expenditures from the Domes-
tic Water Improvement Fund shall be made only for the
purposes specified in 3.72.010 above. No expenditure
shall be made from such fund unless the Yakima City Council
shall approve such expenditure by passing an ordinance
appropriating money within the fund for the purpose for
which the expenditure is to be made, or by including an
appropriation for such purpose in the Budget."
Section 2. This Ordinance is one to provide for the immediate
• preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare
of the people of the City of Yakima and an emergency is hereby declar-
ed to exist and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect im-
mediately upon its passage, approval and publication as provided by
law and by the City Charter.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, signed and approved this 10th day of
April, 1967.
