410 AN ORDINANCE relating to paying fines and costs imposed by the Yakima Muni-
cipal Court; specifying credit to be allowed for jail time
served; and amending Section 1.66.010 of the City of Yakima
Municipal Code.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. Section 1.66.010 of the City of Yakima Municipal Code is
hereby amended to read as follows:
"1.66.010 SATISFACTION OF JUDGMENT--PAYMENT OF FINE.
(a) In all cases of conviction in the Yakima Municipal Court
for the violation of any City Ordinance, the Judge shall enter
judgment for the fine and costs imposed against the defendant
• and may commit him to jail until the amount of such fine and
costs owing are paid. The amount of such fine and costs owing
shall be the total of the fine and costs imposed as reduced by
any portion thereof paid anytime after judgment is entered.
(b) Upon any such committment to jail, the defendant may
be ordered to be placed at hard labor. In such an event, the
defendant shall receive credit, toward the amount of such fine
and costs owing, of $10.00 for each day he performs such labor,
otherwise, he shall receive credit, toward such fine and costs
!II owing, of $8.00 for each day of imprisonment."
Section 2. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty
days after its passage, approval and publication as provided by law and by
the City Charter.
