ORDNANCE NO. 6- C
AN ORDINANCE declaring buildings At 916 South 6th Street, within the
• City of,Yakima, to be a nuisance; requiring the abate-
ment and removal of the same; providing for serving of
Ordinance; and directing the City Attorney of the City
of Yakima to commence an action for abatement of said
nuisance, and declaring an emergency.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. That the buildings located at 916 South 6th Street,
within the City limits,of the City of Yakima, more particularly de-
scribed as follows, to-wit:
Lot 1, Block 'T", South Park Addition, City of Yakima,
Yakima County, Washington; .
said buildings having been vacant and unoccupied for a period of more
than two years last past and having become in such condition as to
Constitute a fire hazard dangerous to persons and property, and a
menace to the public health and safety, and in such a state and condi-
tion as to constitute a nuisance, are hereby declared to be a nuisance.
Section Z. That the owner of said property, or the person or
persons having charge thereof, are hereby required to abate and remove
said nuisance within 30 days of the date of passage of this ordinance.
Section_ 3. That after passage of this ordinance, the Fire Marshal
of the City of Yakima shall serve or cause be served upon the owner
• of said property, or the person in charge of said property, a certified
copy of this ordinancei such service to be accomplished by personal
service or by mailing a certified copy of this ordinance to the owner
or other person.
Section 4. That if said nuisance is not abated and removed within
said 30 day period; the City Attorney of the City of Yakima is hereby
directed to commence action in the Superior Court of the State of
0 Washington in and for the County of Yakima for the purpose of abating
said nuisance.
Section 5. This ordinance is one to provide for the immediate
preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare
of the people of the City of Yakima, and an emergency is hereby de-
clared to exist, and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect
immediately upon its passage, approval and publication as provided by
law and by the City Charter.
