ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE accepting the recommendation of the Planning Commission
and rezoning certain property consisting of a vacant lot
between 211 and 217 North 32nd Avenue, 210 through 214
North 32nd Avenue, 217 North 32nd Avenue, 308 North 32nd
Avenue, and 216 North 31st Avenue, in the City of Yakima,
Washington, from R -I, One- Family Zone, to R -2, Two -
Family Zone.
Ilk WHEREAS, pursuant to due and legal notice, the City Council of the
City of Yakima held a hearing on the 5th day of April, 1965, upon the
recommendation of the Planning Commission that real property consisting
of a vacant lot between 211 and 217 North 32nd Avenue, 210 through 214
North 32nd Avenue, 217 North 32nd Avenue, 308 North 32nd Avenue, and
216 North 31st Avenue, within the City of Yakima, Washington, the
legal description of which is set out hereinbelow, be rezoned from
R -I, One - Family Zone, to R -2, Two - Family Zone, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that such recommendation of the
Planning Commission for such rezoning should be approved for the rea-
sons that such rezoning is in accord with good planning and with the
• Comprehensive Plan of the City of Yakima; that the majority of property
owners in the vicinity do not oppose the change in classification;
that the needs of the City and community do require such change and
that the highest and best use of said property is for two - family pur-
poses, now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section I. That the recommendation of the Planning Commission of
the City of Yakima that the following described real property consist-
ing of a vacant lot between 211 and 217 North 32nd Avenue, 210 through
214 North 32nd Avenue, 217 North 32nd Avenue, 308 North 32nd Avenue, an
216 North 31st Avenue, in the City of Yakima, Washington, and more
particularly described as follows, to -wit:
Beginning at a point on the West right of way line of Grand-
view Avenue 423.22 feet North of the South line of the North -
east quarter of Section 22, Township 13 North, Range 18, E,W.M.;
thence West, parallel to the South line of the Northeast quarter
of Said Section 22, to the East right of way l i n e of North 33rd
Avenue; thence Northerly, along the East right of way line of
North 33rd Avenue, to the South boundary line of Flagg Addition
according to plat thereof recorded in Volume "I" of plats, page
30, records of Yakima County, Washington; thence East, along
the South boundary line of said Flagg Addition, to the West
right of way line of Grandview Avenue; thence South, along the

West right of way line of Grandview Avenue, to the extended
North line of Lot 16 of Craig Addition according to plat there-
of recorded in Volume "K" of plats, page 29, records of Yakirn
County, Washington; thence East, along the North line extended
and North line of Lot 16'of said Craig Addition, to the North-
east corner or said Lot 16; thence South, along the East linu
of Lot 16 of said Craig Addition, to the Southeast corner of
said Lot 16; thence East, along the North line of Lot 10 of
said Craig Addition, to the Northeast corner of said Lot IC;
11/ thence South, along the East boundary line of said Craig
Addition, to the Southeast corner of Lot 8 of said Craig
Addition; thence West, along the South line of Lot 8 of said
Craig Addition, to the Southwest corner of said Lot 8; thence
North, along the West lines of Lots 8 and 9 of said Craig
Addition, to the Northwest corner of said Lot 9; thence West,
along the South line and South line extended of Lot 17 of said
Crag Addition, to the West right of way line of Grandview
Avenue; thence South, along the West right of way line of
Grandview Avenue, to the point of beginning;
be approved and that said property be rezoned from R-I, One-Family
Zone, to R-2, Two-Family Zone, be, and the same is hereby, approved
and said real property is hereby rezoned, to R-2, Two-Family Zone.
Section 2. The above change in zoning shall be included and de-
picted on the next regularly amended Use District Map prepared by and
for the City.
411 Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
file with the Yakima Couty Auditor a certified copy of this Ordinance.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
• thirty days after its passage, approval and publication as provided by
law and by the City Charter.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, signed and approved this 5th day of
April, 1965.
