AN ORDINANCE accepting the recommendation of the Planning Commission
and rezoning certain property located between "D" and
"E" Streets and North 2nd and 3rd Streets, in-the City
of Yakima, Washington, from R -3, Multiple - Family Zone, to
B -I, Modified Business Zone.
WHEREAS, pursuant to due and legal notice, the City Council of the
• City of Yakima held a hearing on the 2Ist day of June, 1965, upon the
recommendation of the Planning Commission that real property located
between "D" and "E" Streets and North 2nd and 3rd Streets, within the
City of Yakima, Washington, the legal description of which is set out
hereinbelow, be rezoned from R -3, Multiple - Family Zone, to B -I,
Modified Business Zone, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that such recommendation of the
Planning Commission for such rezoning should be approved for the rea-
sons that such rezoning is in accord with good planning and with the
Comprehensive Plan of the City of Yakima; that the majority of property
owners in the vicinity do not oppose the change in classification;
that the needs of the City and community do require such change and
• that the highest and best use of said property is for modified busi-
ness purposes, now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. That the recommendation of the Planning Commission of
the City of Yakima that the following described real property located
between "D" and "E" Streets and North 2nd and 3rd Streets, in the City
of Yakima, Washington, and more particularly described as follows,
to -wit:
Lots 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 11, 12, 13, and 14, Block 46,
Town of North Yakima, now Yakima, Yakima County, State
of Washington;
be approved and that said property be rezoned from R -3, Multiple-
Family Zone, to B -I, Modified Business Zone, be, and the same is
hereby, approved and said real property is hereby rezoned, to B -1,
Modified Business Zone.
Section 2. The above change in zoning shall be included and de-
picted on the next regularly amended Use District Map prepared by and
for the City.
Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
file with the Yakima County Auditor a certified copy of this Ordinance.
Section 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
thirty days after its passage, approval and publication as provided by
411 law and by the City Charter.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, signed and approved this 2Ist day of
June, 1965.
