HomeMy WebLinkAbout1965-664 ORDINANCE NO. 664z AN ORDINANCE accepting the recommendation of the Planning Commission and rezoning certain property situated between 15th and 16th Avenue and between Lenox and Viola, in the City of Yakima, Washington, from R -2, Two - Family Zone, to R -3, Multiple- Family Zone. WHEREAS, pursuant to due and legal notice, the City Council of the City of Yakima held a hearing on the 2Ist day of June, 1965, upon the III recommendation of the Planning Commission that real property situated between 15th and 16th Avenue and between Lenox and Viola, within the City of Yakima, Washington, the legal description of which is set out hereinbelow, be rezoned from R -2, Two - Family Zone, to R -3, Multiple - Family Zone, and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that such recommendation of the Planning Commission for such rezoning should be approved for the rea- sons that such rezoning is in accord with good planning and with the Comprehensive Plan of the City of Yakima; that the majority of property owners in the vicinity do not oppose the change in classification; that the needs of the City and community do require such change and • that the highest and best use of said property is for multiple - family purposes, now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. That the recommendation of the Planning Commission of the City of Yakima that the following described real property situated between 15th and 16th Avenue and between Lenox and Viola, in the City of Yakima, Washington, and more particularly described as follows, to -wit: The East half of Lot 2, all of Lot 3 except the Northwest Quarter thereof, all of Lots 4, 5, 21, 22, 23, 24 and 25 of Johnson's Orchard Home Tracts according to the plat thereof, recorded in Volume "G" of Plats, page 6, records of Yakima. County, Washington; be approved and that said property be rezoned from R -2, Two - Family • Zone, to R -3, Multiple-Family Zone, be, and the same is hereby, y y, approv- ed and said real property is hereby rezoned, to R -3, Multiple - Family Zone. Section 2. The above change in zoning shall be included and de- picted on the next regularly amended Use District Map prepared by and for the City. Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to file with the Yakima County Auditor a certified copy of this Ordinance. Section 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty days after its passage, approval and publication as provided by law and by the City Charter.
