HomeMy WebLinkAbout1965-700 ORDINANCE NO. 70 AN ORDINANCE accepting the recommendation of the Planning Commission and rezoning certain property situated at 1902 -1914 Nob Hill Boulevard; 1105 South 20th Avenue; 1102 and 1104 South 19th Avenue, Yakima, Washington, from R -2, Two - Family Zone, to B -3, General Business Zone. WHEREAS, pursuant to due and legal notice, the City Council of ths, City of Yakima held a hearing on the 7th day of September, 1965, upon • the recommendation of the Planning Commission that real property situated at 1902 -1914 Nob Hill Boulevard; 1105 South 20th Avenue; 1102 and 1104 South 19th Avenue, within the City of Yakima, Washington; the legal description of which is set out hereinbelow, be rezoned from R -2, Two - Family Zone, to B -3, General Business Zone, and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that such recommendation of the Planning Commission for such rezoning should be approved for the rea- sons that such rezoning is in accord with good planning and with the Comprehensive Plan of the City of Yakima; that the majority of proper- ty owners in the vicinity do not oppose the change in classification; that the needs of the City and community do require such change and • that the highest and best use of said property is for general business purposes, now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. That the recommendation of the Planning Commission of the City of Yakima that the following described real property situated at 1902 -1914 Nob Hill Boulevard; 1105 South 20th Avenue; 1102 and 1104 South 19th Avenue, in the City of Yakima, Washington, and more par- ticularly described as follows, to -wit: Beginning at the Northwest corner of the Northeast quarter of the southeast quarter of Section 26, Town- ship 13 North, Range 18 E.W.M.; thence south along the west line of said subdivision, 218.71 feet; thence east parallel with the north line of said subdivision, 448 feet; thence north 218.71 feet to the north line of said subdivision; thence east to the point of beginning; EXCEPT . the north 26 feet and west 20 feet for roads; -. . _ _ - y be rezoned from R -2, Two-Family Zone, to B -3, General Business Zone, be, and the same is hereby, approved and said real property is hereby rezoned, to B -3, General Business Zone. Section 2. The above change in zoning shall be included and de- picted on the next regularly amended Use District Map prepared by and for the City. Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to file with the Yakima County Auditor a certified copy of this Ordinance. Section 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect _410 thirty days after its passage, approval and publication as provided by law and by the City Charter.
