AN ORDINANCE providing for the annexation by the City of Yakima of
certain property contiguous to the City of Yakima and
zoning said property.
WHEREAS, proceedings have been held in accordance with Chapter
128 of the Laws of 1945, as amended, and Chapter 282 of the Laws of
1961 for the annexation of the property hereinafter described, and
411 WHEREAS, at a regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Com-
mission of the City of Yakima, a hearing was held pursuant to legal
notice, upon the zoning and land use classification of said property
hereinafter described and annexed, and
WHEREAS, said Planning Commission duly recommended that said
property be annexed to the City of Yakima and made recommendations
as to the zoning for said property, and
WHEREAS, said proposed area to be annexed to the City of Yaklma
is more than 10 acres in area, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore determined that it
would approve the proposed annexation and that it would require the • 0 property owners of such area to assume the existing indebtedness of
the City of Yakima, and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 282, Laws
of 1961, a majority of the review board comprised of the Mayor of
the City of Yakima, the Chairman of the Board of Yakima County Com-
missioners, the Chairman of the School Board of Yakima School District
No. 7, the Representative of the State Department of Commerce and
Economic Development, and a Resident and Property Owner of the area
proposed to be annexed, met and considered all of the factors set forth
in said Chapter 282, Laws of 1961, and at the conclusion of said
meeting made and entered their unanimous findings and determinations
with respect to such annexation and recommended to the City Council of

the City of Yakima that said proposed area be annexed to the City of
Yakima, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to due and legal notice as provided by law and
by the City Charter, a public hearing was held upon said petition for
annexation before the City Council of the City of Yakima on December
6, 1965, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that such property should be
annexed to the City of Yakima and further finds that the property
should be zoned as hereinafter set forth for the reasons that such
zoning and classification is in accord with good planning and with the
Comprehensive Plan of the City of Yakima, that the majority of the pro-
perty owners in the vicinity do not oppose the classification or the
annexation, that the needs of the City and community do require the
thereinafter set forth zoning classifications, and that the highest and
best use for said property is as hereinafter determined, now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. That the following described property contiguous to
the City of Yakima, Washington, to -wit:
Beginning at a point 924.1 feet north of the southeast corner
of the northwest quarter of Section 35, Township 13 North,
Range 18, E.W.M.; thence west 167 feet; thence south 214 feet, .
more or less, to the centerline of Wide Hollow Creek; thence
westerly, along the centerline of Wide Hollow. Creek to the
west line of the east half of the southeast quarter of the
northwest quarter of said Section 35; thence north, along the
east line of the west half of the southeast quarter of the
northeast quarter of said Section 35, to a point 894.0 feet
north of the southeast corner of the west half of the south-
., east quarter of the northwest quarter of said Section 35;
thence northwesterly 675.3 feet, more or less, to a point 978
feet north of the southwest corner of the southeast quarter
of the northwest quarter of said Section 35; thence north,
along the west line of the southeast quarter of the northwest
quarter of said Section 35, to the northwest corner of the
southeast quarter of the northwest quarter of said Section
35; thence east, along the north line of the southeast quarter
of the northwest quarter of said Section 35, to the northeast
corner of the southeast quarter of the northwest quarter of
said Section 35; thence south, along the east line of the
northwest quarter of said Section 35, to the point of beginning;
is hereby annexed to the City of Yakima, Washington.
Section 2. That the owners of the hereinbefore described real
property annexed to the City of Yakima shall be required to assume
existing indebtednesses of the City of Yakima.
Section 3. The hereinbefore described real property annexed to
'S the City of Yakima is hereby zoned as follows:
(a) The following described property is hereby zoned as R -4,
Suburban Residence Zone:
That portion of the West half of the Southeast quarter of
the Northwest quarter of Section 35, Township 13, North,
Range 18, E.W.M., lying North of a line beginning at a point
on the East line of said West half 894 feet North of the
Southeast corner of said West half; thence Northwesterly in.

a straight line to a point in the West line of said West
halt which said point is situate 978 feet North of the
Southwest corner of said West half.
(b) That all of the property hereby annexed to the City of
Yakima as described in Section 1 hereof is hereby zoned as M-I, Light
Industrial Zone, except for that portion thereof zoned R-4, Suburban
III Residence Zone, as described and provided in Section 3 (a) hereof.
Section 4. That the next regularly amended Use District Map pre-
pared by and for the City of Yakima shall show said property as
hereinbefore zoned and classified.
Section 5. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
file a certified copy of this ordinance with the County Auditor of
Yakima County and with the Board of County Commissiohers - 6 - 1 - Yakima
County, Washington.
Section 6. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect 30
days after its final passage, approval and publication as provided by
law and by the City Charter.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, signed and approved this 6th day of
December, 1965.
