HomeMy WebLinkAbout1965-760 • ORDINANCE NO. 740 AN ORDINANCE accepting the recommendation of the Planning Commission and rezoning certain property located at 107 North IOth Street, in the City of Yakima, Washington, from M -2, Heavy Industrial Zone, to R -3, Multiple Family Zone. WHEREAS, pursuant to due and legal notice, the City Council of the City of Yakima held a hearing on the 27th day of December, 1965, • upon the recommendation of the Planning Commission that real property located at 107 North IOth Street, within the City of Yakima, Washing- ton, the legal description of which is set out hereinbelow, be rezoned from M -2, Heavy Industrial Zone, to R -3, Multiple Family Zone, and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that such recommendation of the Planning Commission for such rezoning should be approved for the rea- sons that such rezoning is in accord with good planning and with the Comprehensive Plan . of the City of Yakima; that the majority of proper- ty owners in the vicinity do not oppose the change in classification; that the needs of the City and community do require such change and that the highest and best use of said property is for multiple family purposes, now, therefore, • BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. That the recommendation of the Planning Commission of the City of Yakima that the following described real property located at 107 North IOth Street in the City of Yakima, Washington, and more particularly described as follows, to -wit: That part of the South half of the South half of the South- east quarter of the Southeast Quarter of Section 18, Town- ship 13, North, Range 19, E.W.M., lying West of a line bearing North 1 °33' West from a point on the South line of said subdivision, situate 964.7 feet West of the Southeast corner of said subdivision; be rezoned from M -2, Heavy Industrial Zone, to R -3, Multiple Family Zone, be, and the same is hereby, approved and said real property is hereby rezoned, to R -3, Multiple Family Zone. • Section 2. The above change in zoning shall be included and de- picted on the next regularly amended Use District Map prepared by and for the City. Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to file with the Yakima County Auditor a certified copy of this Ordinance. Section 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty days after its passage, approval and publication as provided by law and by the City Charter. 410 PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, signed and approved this 27th day of December, 1965.
