'710 AN ORDINANCE accepting the recommendation of the Planning Commission and rezoning certain property located South of Lincoln Avenue, between North 5th Avenue and 6th Avenue, in the City of Yakima, Washington, from R-3, Multiple Family Zone, to B-3, General Business Zone. WHEREAS, pursuant to due and legal notice, the City Council of 40 the City of Yakima held a hearing on the 14th day of February, 1966, upon the recommendation of the Planning Commission that real property located South of Lincoln Avenue, between North 5th Avenue and 6th Ave- nue, within the City of Yakima, Washington, the legal description of which is set out hereinbelow, be rezoned from R-3, Multiple Family Zone, to B-3, General Business Zone, and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that such recommendation of the Planning Commission for such rezoning should be approved for the rea- sons that such rezoning is in accord with good planning and with the Comprehensive Plan of the City of Yakima; that the majority of pro- perty owners in the vicinity do not oppose the change in classifica- tion; that the needs of the City and community do require such change /Oh ql, and that the highest and best use of said property is for general business purposes, now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section I. That the recommendation of the Planning Commission of the City of Yakima that the following described real property located South of Lincoln Avenue, between North 5th Avenue and 6th Avenue in the City of Yakima, Washington, and more particularly described as follows, to-wit: All of Block 288, Ker's Second Addition to the City of Yakima, formerly North Yakima, Washington, recorded in Volume A of Plats, Page 32, records of Yakima County, Washington, EXCEPT Lots 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 thereof; be rezoned from R-3, Multiple Family Zone, to B-3, General Business 41 ' Zone, be, and the same is hereby, approved and said real property is hereby rezoned, to B-3, General Business Zone. Section 2. The above change in zoning shal I be included and de- picted on the next regularly amended Use District Map prepared by and for the City. Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to file with the Yakima County Auditor a certified copy of this Ordinance. Section 4. This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect thirty days after its passage, approval and publication as provided by law and by the City Charter.
