AN ORDINANCE confirming the irrigation maintenance assessment rol r of
the City of Yakima for the calendar year 1966, and levy-
ing irrigation maintenance assessments according to such
roll; and declaring an emergency.
WHEREAS, the Director of Public Utilities of the City of Yakima
has heretofore duly prepared and filed with the Yakima City Clerk a
proposed irrigation maintenance roll for the calendar year 1966, all
pursuant to and in accordance with applicable laws, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to due Flotice, the Yakima City Council held a
public hearing on February 28, 1966, on the confirmation of said pro-
posed assessment roll, and at said hearing the City Council sat as a
board of equalization and heard and considered objections to said pro-
posed roll, and caused adjustments to be made thereto, now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY ODUNC1L OF THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section I. That the irrigation maintenance assessment roll of the
City of Yakima for the calendar year 1966 as heretofore filed with the
Yakima City Clerk and as adjusted by the City Council at its aforesaid
0 public hearing, and the assessments contained therein, are hereby
approved and confirmed; and the lots, tracts and parcels of land de-
scribed in said roll are hereby assessed and charged in the respective
amounts set forth and specified in said
Section 2. The City Clerk is hereby directed to 'forthwith de-
liver to the City Treasurer a certified copy of said assessment roll,
and the City Treasurer shall thereupon publish notice and mail state-
ments of said assessments being due, all as required by law.
Section 3. This Ordinance is one to provide for the immediate
preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and welfare
of the people of the City of Yakima and an emergency is hereby declar-
ed to exist and this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect

immediately upon its passage, approval and publication as provided by
law and by the City Charter.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, signed and approved this 28th day of
February, 1966.
