AN ORDINANCE accepting the recommendation of the Planning Commission
and rezoning certain property situated at the northeast
corner of 24th Avenue and West Washington Avenue, in
the City of Yakima, Washington, from M -3, Airport Indus-
trial Zone, to r-1, Light Industrial Zone.
UHEREAS, pursuant to due and legal notice, the City Council of
the City of Yakima held a hearing on the 4th day of April, 1966, upon
the recommendation of the Planning Commission that two parcels of real
property situated at the northeast corner of 24th Avenue and West
Washington Avenue, within the City of Yakima, Washington, the legal
description of which is set out hereinbelow, be rezoned from M -3,
Airport Industrial Zone, to Pi -1, Light Industrial Zone, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that such recommendation of the
Planning. Commission for such rezoning should be approved for the rea-
sons that such rezoning is in accord with good planning and with the
Comprehensive Plan of the City of Yakima; that the majority of proper—
ty owners in the vicinity do not oppose the change in classification;
that the needs of the City and community do require such change and
that the highest and best use of said property is for light industrial
purposes, now, therefore,
• BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAK IKA:
Section 1. That the recommendation of the Planning Commission of
the City of Yakima that the following described parcels of real proper
ty situated at the northeast corner of 24th Avenue and West Washington
Avenue, in the City of Yakima, Washington, and more particularly
described as follows, to -wit:
PARCEL 1.
The West 275 feet of the South 330 feet of the Southwest
quarter of the Northeast Quarter of Section 35, Township
13 North, Range 18, E.W.M., Yakima County, Washington;
PARCEL 2.
The est 325 feet of the South 480 feet of the 'Southwest
quarter of the Northeast quarter of Section 35, Township
13 North, Range 18, E.W.M., in the City of Yakima, Yakima
County, Washington, EXCEPT the South 330 feet of the West
275 feet thereof;
EXCEPT
that portion of parcels 1 and 2 lying South of the following
described line: Beginning at a point on the North right of
way line of V3est Washington Avenue which is 450 feet East of
the East right of way line of South 24th Avenue; thence North-
westerly along the arc of a 6° circular curve to the Right
with a radius of 954.93 feet, to the intersection of said
curve with the East right of way line of South 24th Avenue;
be rezoned from M -3, Airport Industrial Zone, to RI -1, Light Industrial
Zone, be, and the same is hereby, approved and said real property is
hereby rezoned, to M -1, Light Industrial Zone.

Section 2. The above change in zoning shall be included and de-
picted on the next regularly amended Use District Map prepared by and
for the City.
Section 3, The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
file with the Yakima County Auditor a certified copy of this
410 Ordinance.
Section 4. This Ordinance is one to provide for the immediate
preservation of the public peace, property, health, safety and wel-
fare of the people of the City of Yakima and an emergency is hereby
declared to exist and this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
immediately upon its passage, approval and nublication as provided
by law and by the City Charter.
