AN ORDINANCE providing for the annexation by the City of Yakima of
certain.property contiguous to the City of Yakima and
Zoning said property.
WHEREAS, proceedings have been held in accordance with Chapter
411 128 of the Laws of 1945, as amended, and Chapter 282 of the Laws of
1961 for the annexation of the property hereinafter described, and
WHEREAS, at a regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Com-
mission of the City of Yakima, a hearing was held pursuant to legal
notice, upon the zoning and land use classification of said property
hereinafter described and annexed, and
WHEREAS, said Planning Commission duly recommended that said
property be annexed to the City of Yakima and made recommendations
as to the zoning for said property, and
WHEREAS, said proposed area to be annexed to the City of Yakima
is more than 10 acres in area, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore determined that it
411 would approve the proposed annexation and that it would require the
property owners of such area to assume the existing indebtedness of
the City of Yakima, and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 282, Laws
of 1961, a majority of the review board comprised of the Mayor of
the City of Yakima, the Chairman of the Board of Yakima County Com-
missioners, the Chairman of the School Board of Yakima School District
No. 7, the Representative of the State Department of Commerce and •
Economic Development, and a Resident and Property Owner of the area
proposed to be annexed, met and considered all of the factors set fort
in said Chapter 282, Laws of 1961, and at the conclusion of said
0 meeting made and entered their unanimous findings and determinations
with respect to such annexation and recommended to the City Council of
the City of Yakima that said proposed area be annexed to the City of
Yakima, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to due and legal notice as provided by law and
by the City Charter, a public hearing was held upon said petition for
annexation before the City Council of the City of Yakima on December
1964,. and
WHEREAS, the City COuncilfindt that such property should be
annexed to the City of Yakima and further finds that the property
should be zoned as hereinafter set forth for the reasons that such
zoning and classification is in accord with good planning and with the
41 / Comprehensive Plan of the, City of Yakima, that the majority of the pro-
perty owners in the vicinity do not oPOos the classification or the
annexation, that the needs of the City and community do require the
hereinafter set forth zoning classifications, and that the highest and
best use for said property is as hereinafter determined, now, therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIM/6
Section That the following described property contiguous to
the City of Yakima, Washington, to-wit:
Beginning at the Southwest corner of the Southeast
Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 15, Township
13 North, Range 18, E.W.M.; thence North 0° 53 West, along
the West line of the Southeast quarter of the Northwest
quarter of said Section 15, 511,74 feet; thence North
89° 33° East 328.81 feet to the West bo!indary lino of Edge
cliff Manor according to plat thereof recorded in Volume"T"
of 'plats, page 20, records of Yakima County, Washington;
thence North 0° 57' 45" West, along the West boundary line
of said Edgeciiff Mano7, to the Northwest corner of the
East half of the West half of the Southeast quarter of the
Northwest quarter of said Section 15; thence North 89° 33'
East, 118.55 feet to the Westerly right of way line of the
Yakima Valley Canal; thence in a Northerly direction along
the West right of way line of the Yakima Valley Canal to '
the North line of said Section 15; thence West, along the
North line of said Section 15 and the North line of Section
16, Township 13 North, Range [8, E.W.M., to the West line
of Lot 1 of State Addition to North Yakima No. 2 (now Yakima)
according to the plat thereof recorded in Volume "F" of plats,
'page 11, records of Yakima County, Washington; thence South,
along the West line of Lot I of said State Addition to North
Yakima No. 2 (now Yakima), to the South line of Lot I; thence
East, along the South line of Lot 1 of State Addition to
North Yakima No. 2 (now Yakima), to the West line of Section
15, Township 13 North, Range 18, E.W.M.; thence South, along
the West line of said Section 15, to the South line of the
Northwest quarter of the Northwest quarter of said Section
15; thence East, along the South line of the Northwest
411 quarter of the Northwest quarter of said Section 15, to the
West line of the East half of the West half of the Southwest
quarter of the Northwest quarter of said Section 15; thence
South, along the West line of the East half of the West half
of the Southwest quarter of the Northwest quarter of said
Section 15, to the Northwest corner of Hilltop Heights
according to plat thereof recorded in Volume "Q" of plats,
page 41, records of Yakima County, Washington; thence South
72° 21' 30" East, along the North line of said Hilltop Heights,
522.8 feet to the Northeast corner of said Hilltop Heights;
thence Southerly, along the East boundary line of said

Hilltop Heights and the Es Hneof Hilltop Drive to the
South line of the Southwest quarter of the Northwest quarter
of said Section 15; thence Eaat, along the South line of
the Southwest quarter of the Northwest quarter of said
Section 15, to the point of beginning;
is nereby annexed to the City of Yakima, Washington.
Section 2. That the owners of the hereinbefcre described real
4111 property annexed to the City of Yakima shall be required to assume

existing indebtednesses of the City of Yakima.
Section 3. The hereinbefore dascr:hed real property annexed to
the City of Yakima is hereby zoned aS follo.vs:
(a) The following describe property is hereby Zoned as R-3,
Multiple Family Zone: .
The North 7(5.46 feet of the West 328.81 feet of the
Sobtheast quarter of the Northwest quarter of Section 15,
ToWnship 13 North, Range 18, E‘W.M.
(b) That all of the property hereby annexed to the City of
Yakima as described in Section 1 hereo is hereby zoned as R-I, One-
Family Zone, except for that Portion theceof zoned R-3, Multiple Family
Zone, as described and provided in Section 3 (a) hereof,

Section_5. The City Clerk if7 hereby authorized and directed to
file 'a certified copy of this ordinance with the County Auditor of
Yakima County and with the Boz7if.-d (- County Commissioners of Yakima
County, Washington.
Section 6. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect 30
days after its final passage, approva! and publ:cation as provided by
law and by the City Charter.
