AN ORDINANCE accepting the recommendation of the Planning Commission
and rezoning certain property located between South 6t and
7t Avenues, immediately north of West Walnut Street, in
the City of Yakima, Washington.
WHEREAS, on the 19th day of April, 1961, at a regularly scheduled
meeting of the City Council, a hearing was had upon the recommendation
of the Planning Commission that certain specified property in the City
of Yakima, to-wit:
Lots 6, 7 8, 9, 10, and 11, Block 312, Capitol Addition,
be rezoned from R-3, Multiple-Pamily Residence Zone, to B-2, Local -
Business Zone, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that such recommendation of the
Planning Commission for such rezoning should be approved for the foi-
1, lowing reasons, to-wit: That such rezoning is in accord with good
planning and with the Comprehensive Plan of the City of Yakima; that
the majority of property owners in the vicinity do not oppose the
change in classification; that the needs of the City and community do
require such change, and that the highest and best use is for Local
Business purposes, now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. The recommendation of the Planning Commission of the
City of Yakima that the following described real property situate be-
tween South 6th and 7g Avenues r immediately north of West Walnut Street,
in the City of Yakima, Washington, and more particularly described as
follows, to-wit:
Lots 6, 7, 6 9, 10 and 11 Block 312, Capitol Addition,
11 be rezoned from R-3 Multiple-Family Residence Zone, to B-2, Local
Business Zone, be, and the same is, hereby approved, and said real
property is hereby rezoned to B-2 Local Business Zone.

411 Section 2. The above change in zoning shall be included and
depicted on the next regularly amended Use District Map prepared by
and for the said City.
Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
file with the Yakima County Auditor a certified copy of this ordinance.
Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective thirty days
after its passage approval and publication as provided by law and
by the City Charter©
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL signed and approved this 19th day of
April 1961.
