AN ORDINANCE accepting the recommendation of the Planning Commission
and rezoning certain property located between West "B"
Street and West "C" Street and between North 3rd Avenue
and. North 4th Avenue in the City of Yakima, Washington.
WHEREAS, on the 26th day of April, 1961, at a regularly scheduled
meeting of the City Council, a hearing was had upon the recommendation
of the Planning Commission that certain specified property in the City
of Yakima, to-wit:
Lots ]. and 2, and that part of Lots 3 to 8 inclusive,
and that part of Lot 16, Block 248 of the Town of
North Yakima, now Yakima; and
That part of Lots 14 and 16 and all of Lot 15, Block
248 of Ker 2nd Addition to North Yakima, now Yakima;
and.
All of Lots 9 to 13 inclusive, and that part of Lot 14,
and of Lots 3 to 8 inclusive, of the Syndicate Subdivi-
sion to North Yakima, now Yakima; according to the
official plats thereof, now on file and of record in
the office of the Auditor of Yakima County, Washington;
be rezoned from R-3, Multiple-Family Residence Zone, to B-3, General
Business Zone, and
WHEREAS,'the City Council finds that such recommendation of the
Planning Commission for such rezoning should be approved for the fol-
lowing reasons, to-wit: That such rezoning is in accord with good
planning and with the Comprehensive Plan of the City of Yakima; that
• the majority of property owners in the vicinity do not oppose the
change in classification; that the needs of the City and community do
require such change; and that the highest and best •use is for General
Business purposes, now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
• Section 1. The recommendation of the Planning Commission of the
City of Yakima that the following described real property situated

between West "B" Street and West "C" Street and between North 3rd
ID Avenue and North 4th Avenue in the City of Yakima Washington, and
more particularly described as follows, to-wit:
Lots 1 and 2 and that part of Lots 3 to 8 inclusive,
and that part of Lot 16 Block 248 of the Town of
North Yakima, now Yakima; and
That part of Lots 14 and 16 and all of Lot 15 Block
248 of Ker's 2nd Addition to North Yakima, now Yakima;
and
All of Lots 9 to 13 inclusive, and that part of Lot 14
and of Lots 3 to 8 inclusive, of the Syndicate Subdivi-
sion to North Yakima, now Yakima. according to the
official plats thereof, now on file and of record in
the office of the Auditor of Yakima County, Washington;
be rezoned from R-3 Multiple-Family Residence Zone to B-39 General
Business Zone, be and the same is hereby approved, and said real
property is hereby rezoned to B-3, General Business Zone.
Section 2. The above change in zoning shall be included and
• depicted on the next regularly amended Use District Map prepared by
and for the said City.
Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
file with the Yakima County Auditor a certified copy of this ordinance.
Section 4® This ordinance shall become effective thirty days

after its passage, approval and publication, as provided by law and
by the City Charter.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, signed and approved this 3rd day of
May 1961.
