HomeMy WebLinkAbout1961-252 • (..Le ORDINANCE NO., III AN ORDINANCE providing for the annexation by the City of Yakima, Washington, of certain property contiguous to the City of Yakima, and zoning the same as R-1, Single Family Residence Zone, and declaring an emergency. WHEREAS, proceedings have been had in accordance with Chapter 128 of the Laws of 1945 for the annexation of the property hereinafter . described, 'and WHEREAS, at a regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Com- mission of the of Yakima a hearing was had pursuant to legal notice, on May 2, 1961, upon the zoning of said property hereinafter described and annexed, and WHEREAS, the said Planning Commission duly recommended that said property be annexed to the City of Yakima and that all of said property hereinafter described be zoned at the time of such annexation as R-1, III Single Family Residence Zone, and WHEREAS,, the City Council finds that such property should be annexed to the City of Yakima, and further finds that such recommenda- tion of the Planning Commission for zoning of said property should be approvedfor the reasons that such zoning is in accord with good plan- ning and with the comprehensive plan of the City of Yakima, that the majority of the property owners in the vicinity do not oppose the classification, that the needs of the City and community do require such zoning classification, and that the highest and beet use for said property is Single Family Residence Zone, now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. That the following described property contiguous to the City of Yakima, Washington, to-wit: Beginning at the Northeast corner of the Southwest Quarter • of the Southwest Quarter of Section 22, Township 13 North, Range 18, E.W.M., thence South 658.6 feet, thence West 330 feet, thence North 658.9 feet, thence East 330 feet to the point of beginning; be and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Yakima. Section 2. The recommendation of the Planning Commission of the City of Yakima that the above-described real property should be zoned R-1, Single Family Residence Zone, be and the same is hereby approved, and said, property is hereby zoned as R-1, Single Family Residence Zone, Section 3. The next regularly amended Use District Map prepared by and for the City of Yakima shall show said property as R-1, Single Family Residence Zone, Section 4. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to file with the Yakima County Auditor a certified copy of this ordinance. Section 5. This ordinance is one to provide for the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, health and safety of the people of the City of Yakima, and an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage, approval and publication as provided by law and by the City Charter, PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, signed and approved thisTday of June, 1961. • ATTEST: "Le 14r y er -2-
