ORDINANCE NO ,25a AN ORDINANCE providing for the annexation by the City of Yakima. Washington, of certain property contiguous to the City of Yakima, and zoning the same as R-1, Single Family Residence Zone, and declaring an emergency. WHEREAS, proceedings have been had in accordance with Chapter 128 of the Laws of 1945 for the annexation of the property hereinafter • described, and WHEREAS, at a regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Com- mission of the City of Yakima a hearing was had, pursuant to legal notice, on May 2, 1961, upon the zoning of said property hereinafter described and annexed, and WHEREAS, the said Planning Commission duly recommended that said property be annexed to the City of Yakima and that all of said property 'hereinafter described be zoned at the time of such annexation a* R-1 Single Family Residence Zone, and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that such property should be annexed to the City of Yakima, and further finds that such recommenda- tion of the Planning Commission for zoning of said property should be approved for the reasons that such zoning is in accord with good plan- ning and with the comprehensive plan of the City of Yakima, that the majority of the property owners in the vicinity do not oppose the classification, that the needs of the City and community do require such zoning classification, and that the highest and best use for said property is Single Family Residence Zone, now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. That the following described property contiguous to • the City of Yakima, Washington, to-wit: -1- Beginning 657.5 feet Wet of the Northeast corner of the Northwest Quarter of Section 36, Township 13 North, Range 18, E.W.M., thence South along the East line of Block 6, Plat of Section 36, Township 1.3 North, Range 18, LW.,, to the South line of said Block 6, thence West along said South line 657.5 feet to the centerline of South 12g Avenue, thence Worth along the centerline of South 12 Avenue 640.3 feet, more or less, to the North line of the Northwest Quarter of Section 36, Township 13 North, Range 18, E.W.M., thence East 657.5 feet to the point of beginning; be and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Yakima. Section 2. The recommendation of the Planning Commission of the City of Yakima that the above-described real property should be zoned R.1, Single Family Residence Zone, be and the same is hereby approved, and said property is hereby zoned as Rel, Single Family Residence Zone, Section 3. The next regularly amended Use District Maio prepared by and for the City of Yakima shall show said property as R-1, Single Family Residence Zone. Section 4. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to file with the Yakima County Auditor a certified copy of this ordinance© Section 5. This ordinance is one to provide for the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, health and safety of the people of the City of Yakima, and an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this ordinance shall be in full force and effect immediately upon its passage, approval and publication as provided by law and by the City Charter© PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, signed and approved this' day of June, 1961.
