HomeMy WebLinkAbout1961-261 ORDINANCE NO 747 AN ORDINANCE adopting the codification of the charter and the ordinances of the City of Yakima of a general, public or permanent nature or iMposing a fine, penalty or forfeiture ae the official Code of said City, as provided for and pursuant to Chapter 97, Laws of 1957 and declaring an emergency. WiltREAS' the - City Council has arrangedfor the codification of the' charter and all ordinances of the City of Yakima of a general, public or permanent nature, or imposing a fine, penalty or forfe1ture and file the same with the City Clerk, and WHEREAS, such codification, which is entitled the uCity of Yakima Municipal Code", has now been completed and a printed copy thereof filed with the City Clerk, and WHEREAS, Chapter 97, Laws of 1957, provides for the adoption of such codification by enacting an ordinance adopting such codification as the official Code of such City, and sets forth certain procedural requirements therein for such adoption, which requirementellave been fully complied with now therefore, Bt IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY Cr YAKIMA: Section 1® That the said codification of the charter and the ordinances of the City ©f Yakima of a general, public or2;.permanent nature, or imposing a fine e penalty or forfOlture, as contained and set forth in a printed copy thereof on file in the office of the City Clerk entitled City of Yakima Municipal Code", beand is hereby adopted a the offi- cial Code of the charter and of the ordinances of the City of Yakima as provided for by Chapter 97, Law 6 of 1957. Section 2, As provided for by Section 6 Chapter 97, Laws of 1957, 0 copies of such Code in published form shall be ,received without further proof as the City Charter and as the ordinances of permanent or general effect of the City of Yakima by all courts and administrative 411of this State. . Section 3, New material shall be adopted by tbe City Council aa separate ordinances prior to the inclusion thereof in such codif providSd that any ordinance amending fication shall set for'n in full the section or sections, or sub-section or sub -secticns, f the cediffeation being amsnded, and this shall constitute a suffiient COE - liaDce with any statutory or charter requirement that no ordinance ner any section thereof shall be revised ar . amended unless the new creAnarce sets forth the revised ordinance or amended section in full-, This ordinance is one to provide for the immediate preservation of the public peace, property, health and safety of th.e peop3a of the City of YP,Irima, :ma an emergency is herby declared to exist t ard this ordinance shall be in full force and effect "mmediate.7 •upon its passage, approval and publicatipn as provided by law and b7 the City Charter.
