HomeMy WebLinkAbout1961-265 7-q ORDINANCE NO AN ORDINANCE relating to parking in the City of Yakima and the issuance of citations for violations thereof, providing bail there- for, and amending Sub-Section (a) of Section 9.36.280; Section 9.16.070; Section 9.36.070; and Section 9.36.120; and repealing Section 9.36.130, all of the City of Yakima Municipal Code. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. That Sub-Section (a) of Section 9.36.280 of the City MrSmaCOcru ,1•7"2.ID. of Yakima Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows, to-wit: "9.36.280 NIGHT PARKING RESTRICTED—LIGHTS REQUIRED—CERTAIN VEHICLES PROHIBITED FROM ALL-NIGHT PARKING. (a) It shall be unlawful to park or angle park, or to leave parked or angle parked, a vehicle upon any of the hereinafter- listed portions of streets in the City of Yakima between the specific times herein mentioned, to-wit: BETWEEN 3:00 A.M. AND 4:00 A.M. • Both sides of 4th St, between East Chestnut andEast "A" Street. Both sides of 3rd St. between East Walnut and East "A" Street. Both sides of 2nd St. between East Walnut and East "A" Street. Both sides of let St. between East Walnut and East "A" Street. BETWEEN 4:00 A.M. AND 5:00 A.M. Both sides of Front St. between East Chestnut & East "A" St. Both sides of East Chestnut between So. 4th St. & So. Front St. Both sides of East Yakima Ave. between Naches Ave. & Front St. Both sides of East 'A" St. between Naches Ave. & Front St.; unless such vehicle shall be in charge of some person having control over the same, and it shall be unlawful for such person to refuse to move such vehicle promptly when requested to do so by any employee of the City of Yakima who is at such time engaged in cleaning, sweeping or flushing the streete. Section 2. That Section 9.16.070 of the City of Yakima Municipal ,o. Code is hereby amended to read as follows, to-wit: 9.16.070 DUTIES OF PERSON IN CHARGE OP BOOKING—ISSUANCE OF LETTERS AND WARRANTS. Duties of the desk sergeant, or person in charge of booking shall be: (1) He shall accept bail and issue receipts therefor. (2) He shall receive and issue receipts for cash bail from all persons who must or wish to be heard in court, enter • the time of their appearance in the court 'docket, and notify the arresting officer and witnesses, if any to be present at the time fixed for the trial thereof. (3) If a violator of the parking or angle parking re- strictions of this code does not appear as provided in Section . 9.16.040 hereof, said desk sergeant or any police officer designated by the Chief of Police, or person in charge of booking violators hereof, shall send to the owner of the motor vehicle to which the notice was affixed a letter informing him of the violation, and warning him that he will be held • responsible for the appearance of the offender® (4) If any person who has received notice or summons as provided in Section 9.16.010 hereof fails to appear within forty-eight (48) hours after the receipt of such notice of summons, or if any,person refuses to deposit bail as provided in Section 9.16.060, or fails to appear within five (5) days after said notice has been given, to him or affixed to his vehicle as provided in Section 9.16.040, the desk sergeant or other person in charge of booking violations hereof, or any police officer designated by the Chief of Police, shall forthwith have a complaint filed against him and secure and issue a warrant for his arrest." • - Section 3, That Section 9.36.070 ef the City of Yakima Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows, to-wit: "9.36.070 ADDITIONAL PARKING RESTRICTIONS. The operator of a vehicle shall not stop, park or angle park such that part of the following-named 'streets and avenueb as hereinafter indicated, Eatt'KC"'Streett From-North'Front Street to North let Street. South:Side of Summitview Avenue: From 16th Avenue to 17th AvenUe. SeuthSide of West Yakima Avenue: - From , 12th Avenue to 16th AVenue. West°Chestnut Street: Both sides fromel6th Avenue to 20th Avenue; South side from 6th Avenue to 7th Avenue. • Eaetjakima Avenue: Both sides from Front Street to railroad tracks; both sides from Sth Street te-9th Street. West Yakima Avenue: From 16th Avenue to 22nd Avenue.- Wet Walnut Stre4tt: Both sides of Walnut Street from 6th Avenueeto 8th Avenue and fret 9th Avenue to llth Avenue.' Eatt-Walnut Street: From the alley between South Front Street and South 1st Street to the alley between South let . Street and South 2nd Street.' First Street: From Station 94/90 to Station 102/80 and Station 108/60 to the South corporate limits. Third Street: For a distance of one hundred feet north of the North property line of Washington Street. • • Washington Street: For a distance of approximately on • hundred feet east of the East property line of 3rd Street and for a distance of approximately one hundred feet west of the West property line of 1st Street, South 3rd Street: Both sides of South 3rd Street fro the intersection of South 2nd Street to Washington Street," Section 4. That Section 9,36.120 of the City of Yakima Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as fol1ows to-wit: "9.36,120 PARKING METER ZONES. (a) The following described portions of the following named avenues and streets in the City of Yakima are hereby established as parking meter zones: Both side e of Yakima Avenue from 6th Avenue to 6th Street. Both sides of East Chestnut Street from Front Street to Naches Avenue. Both sides of East Walnut Street from Front Street to the alley between Front Street and South 1st Street and from the alley between South 1st Street and South 2nd Street to South 4th Street. Both sides of East "A" Street from Front Street to Naohes Avenue, • Both sides of East "B" Street from Front Street to North 3rd Street© South side of East "B" Street from North 3rd Street to North 4th Street. East side of 6th Avenue South from West Yakima Avenue to West Chestnut Street. Both sides of 5th Avenue South from West Yakima Avenue to West Chestnut Street. Both sides of 4th Avenue South from West Yakima Avenue to West Chestnut Street. Both sides of 3rd Avenue South from West Yakima Avenue to West Chestnut Street. West side of 2nd Avenue from first alley north of Yakima Avenue to West Chestnut Street. Both sides of Front Street from East Walnut to East "B" Street. Both sides of 1st Street from East Spruce Street to East "C" Street. Both sides of 2nd Street from East Spruce Street to East "C" Street. Both sides of 3rd Street from East Spruce Street to East n C" Street. Both sides of 4th Street from East Walnut Street to East "B" Street. West side of Naches Avenue from East Chestnut Street to East "A" Street. • (b) One hour.-two nickel--parking meter zones: The following described portions of the following named avenues and streets in the City of Yakima are hereby established as one hour 9 two nickels or for one-half hour one nickel parking meter zon,xs: Both sides of East Yakima Avenue from Front St. to Naches Avenue. Both sides of l Street from E. Chestnut to East "A" Street. Both sides of 2nd. Street from E. Chestnut to East "A" Street. • Both sides of 3rd Street from E. Chestnut to East "A" Street. Both sides of 4th Street from E. Chestnut to East "A" Street. South side of East "A" Street from N. 1st Street to North 4th Street. North side of East Chestnut Street from South 1st Street to South 4th Street. (c) One hour -one nickel - parking meter zones: The following described portions of the following named avenues and streets in the City of Yakima are hereby established as one hour, one nickel, parking meter zones: Both sides of West Yakima Avenue from 6th Avenue to NOPORORC tracks. West side of 2nd Avenue North from Yakima Avenue to first alley north of Yakima Avenue. Both sides of East "A" Street from Front Street to North 4th Street. Both sides of East Chestnut Street from Front Street to South 4th Street. East side of Front Street from East Chestnut Street to East "A" Street. Both sides of South let Street from East Spruce Street to East Chestnut Street, Both sides of North let Street from East "A" Street to East "B" Street. Both sides of South 2nd Street from East Walnut Street to East Chestnut Street. Both sides of North 2nd Street from East "A" Street to East "3" Street. Both sides of South 3rd Street from East Walnut Street to East Chestnut Street, West side of Naohes Avenue from East Chestnut Street to East "A" Street. (d) Two hour- -two nickel — parking meter zone: The following described portions of the following named avenues and streets in the City of Yakima are hereby established as two hour two nickels or one hour, one nickel parking meter zones: Both sides of South 5th Avenue from Yakima Avenue to West Chestnut Street. Both sides of South 4th Avenue from Yakima Avenue to West Chestnut Street. Both sides of South 3rd Avenue from Yakima Avenue to West Chestnut Street. Both sides of South 2nd Avenue from Yakima Avenue to West Chestnut Street. East side of North Front Street from East "A" Street to East "B" Street. East side of Naches Avenue from East Yakima Avenue to East "A" Street." Section 5. That Section 9.36.130 of the City of Yakima Municipal Code is hereby repealed. Section 6. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect 30 days after its final passage, approval and publication, as provided by law and by the City Charter.
