AN ORDINANCE accepting the recommendation of the Planning Commission
and rezoning certain property located between South 6th
Avenue and South 7th Avenue and between Walnut and Chest-
nut Streets in the City of Yakima, Washington.
WHEREAS, on the 12g day of July, 1961, at a regularly scheduled
meeting of the City Council, a hearing was had upon the recommendation
of the Planning Commission that certain specified property in the City
of Yakima, to-wit:
'Lots 1, 2, 15 and . 16, Block 312 Capitol Addition to the
Town of North Yakima, now Yakima, Washington, according to
the plat thereof recorded in Volume "A" of Plats, Page 10
records of Yakima County, Washington;
be rezoned from R-3, Multiple Family Residence Zone, to B-3 General
Business Zone, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that such recommendation of the
411 Planning Commission for such rezoning should be approved for the fol-
lowing reasons, to-wit: That such rezoning is in accord with good
planning and with the Comprehensive Plan of the City of Yakima; that
the majority of property owners in the vicinity do not oppose the change
in classification; that the needs of the City and community do require
such change; and that the highest and best use is for General Business
purposes, now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. That the recommendation of the Planning Commission of
the City of Yakima that the following described real property situated
between South 6th Avenue and South 7th Avenue and between Walnut and
Chestnut Streets in the City of Yakima, Washington, and more particularly
41 1 described as follows, to-wit:

Lots 1 2p 15 and 16, Block 312 Capitol Addition to the
Town of North Yakima, now Yakima, Washington, according to
the plat thereof recorded in Volume "A" of Plats, Page 10
records of Yakima County, Washfngton;
be rezoned from R-3, Multiple Family Residence Zone, to B-3, General
Business Zone, be and the same is, hereby approved, and said real prop-
erty is hereby rezoned to B-3 General Business,Zone.
Section 2. The above change in zoning shall be included and de-
picted on the next regularly amended Use District Map prepared by and
for the said City.
Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
file with the Yakima County Auditor a certified copy of this ordinance.
Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective thirty days after
its passage, approval and publication, as provided by law and by the
City Charter.
