AN ORDINANCE accepting the recommendation of the Planning Commission and rezoning certain property located at 1128 West Lenox, between Queen Avenue and Twelfth Avenue, in the City of Yakima, Washington. WHEREAS, on the 10 day of August, 1961 at a regularly scheduled meeting of the City Council, a hearing was had upon the recommendation of the Planning Commission that certain specified property in the City of Yakima, to-wit: That portion of Tract No 17 of Plat No, 2 of the Ontario Land Company's Garden Tracts, according to the plat thereof recorded in Volume "A" of Plats, page 122 described as follows: Beginning at a point 376.2 feet West and 163 feet North of the Southeast corner of said Tract No 17; thence running West 125.4 feet; thence North 148 feet; thence East 125.4 fzet; thence South 148 feet to the point of beginning; • be rezoned from R-2, Two Family Residential Zone, to R-3, Multiple Family Residential Zone, and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that such recommendation of the Planning Commission for such rezoning should be approved for the fol- lowing reasons, to-wit: That such rezoning is in accord with good planning and with the Comprehensive Plan of the City of Yakima; that the majority of property owners in the vicinity do not oppose the change in classification; that the needs of the City and community do require such change; and that the highest and best use is for Multiple Family Resi- dential purposes, now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1. That the recommendation of the Planning Commission of the City of Yakima that the following described real property situated • at 1128 West 'Lenox, between Queen Avenue and Twelfth Avenue, in the City of Yakima, Washington, and more particularly described as follows, to- wit: -1- That portion of Tract No. 17 of Plat No. 2 of the Ontario 411 Land Company's Garden Tracts, according to the plat thereof recorded in Volume "A" of Plats, page 122 described ' follows: Beginning at a point 376.2 feet West and 163 feet North of the Southeast corner of said Tract No 17; thence running West 125.4 feet; thence Worth 148 feet; thence East 125.4 feet; thence South 148 feet to the point of beginning; be rezoned from R-2 Two Family Residential Zone to R-3 Multiple Family Residential Zone, be and the same is, hereby approved, and said real property is hereby rezoned to R-3 Multiple Family Residential Zone. Section 2. The above change in zoning shall be included and de- picted on the next regularly amended Use District Map prepared by and for the said City® asapILI. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to file with the Yakima County Auditor a certified copy of this ordinance. • Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective thirty days after its passage, approval and publication, as provided by law and by the City Charter.
