AN ORDINANCE accepting the recommendation of the Planning Commission
and rezoning certain property located at 1020 South 10th
Avenue in the City of Yakima, Washington from R-2 Two
Family Residential Zone, to 7E5-3 General Business Zone.
WHEREAS, on the 20 day of September, 1961 at a regularly scheduled
meeting of the City Council a hearing was had upon the recommendation
of the Planning Commission that certain specified property in the City
of Yakima, to-witt
The East Half of. Lot 5 Bieck 1 DeYoung's Capitol Hill
Garden Tracts, according to the official n1r there f re-
corded in Volume "B" of Plats page 75 records of Yakima
County, Washington;
be rezoned from R-2 Two Family Residential Zone, to B-3 General Busi-
ness Zone, and
• WHEREAS, the City Council finds that such recommendation of the
Planning COMMiSSiOn for such rezoning should be approved for the following
reasons, to-wit; That such rezoning is in accord with good planning and
with the Comprehensive Plan of the City of Yakima; that the majority of
property owners in the vicinity do not oppose the change in classifica-
tion; that the needs of the City and community do require such change;
and that the highest and best use is for General Business purposes now,
therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIZIA:
Section 1. That the recommendation of the Planning Commission of
the City of Yakima that the following described real property situated
at 1020 South 10th Avenue in the City of Yakima Washington, and more
particularly described as fo11ows to-wit
0 The East Half of Lot 5, Block 1, DeYoung's Capitol Hill
Garden Tracts, according to the official plat thereof re-
corded in Volume "B" of Plats, page 75 records of Yakima
County Washington;

0 be rezoned from R-2 Two Family Residential Zone, to B-3 General
Business Zone be and the same is,b hereby approved., and said real
property is he-eby rezoned to B-3, General Business Zone.
Section 2. The above change in zoning shall be included and de-
picted on the next regularly amended Use District Map prepared by and
for the said City.
Secion 3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
file with the Yakima County Auditor a certified copy of this ordinance.
Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective thirty days after
its passage approval and publication, as provided by law and by the
City Charter.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, signed and approved this 20th day of
September 1961.
