AN ORDINANCE providing for the annexation by the City of Yakima of
certain property contiguous to the City and zoning the
same.
WHEREAS, proceedings have been had in accordance with Chapter 128
of the Laws of 1945, as amended, and Chapter 282 of the Laws of 1961
for the annexation of the property hereinafter described, and
WHEREAS, at a regularly scheduled meeting of the Planning Commission
of the City of Yakima a hearing was had pursuant to legal notice upon
the zoning and land use classification of said property hereinafter
described and annexed, and
WHEREAS, said Planning Commission duly recommended that said prop-
erty be annexed to the City of Yakima and that all of said property be
zoned at the time of such annexation as hereinafter set forth, and
11 1 WHEREAS, said proposed area to be annexed to the City of YakiTa
is more than ten acres in area and more than $200,000.00 in assesse0_
valuation, and
WHEREAS, the City Council has heretofore determined that it would
approve the proposed annexation and that it would not require the rnoop-
erty owners of such area to assume the existing indebtedness of tb(il
City of Yakima, and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 282, Laws of
1961, the Mayor of the City of Yakima, the Chairman of the Board of
Yakima County Commissioners, the Chairman of the School Board of Ya'xima
School District No. 7 the Chairman of the School Board of Poxes School
District No 90 the Alternate designated by the Director of the State
Department of Commerce and Economic Development, and a Resident and

Property Owner of the area proposed to be annexed, the same constitnting

the Review Board, met and considered all of the factors set forth in
said Chapter 282 Laws of 1961, and at the conclusion of said meeting
made and entered their findings and determinations with respect to such
annexation and recommended to the City Council of the City of Yakima
that said proposed area be annexed to the City of Yakima, and
WHEREAS, pursuant to due and legal notice as provided by law and
• City Charter, a public hearing was had upon said petition for annexation
before the City Council of the City of Yakima on the 13th day of Novem-
ber, 1961, and
WHEREAS, the City Council finds that such property should be em-
nexed to the City of Yakima and further finds that the recommendation
of the Planning Commission for the zoning and land use classification
of said property should be approved for the reasons that such zoning
and classification is in accord with good planning and with the Compre-
411 hensive Plan of the City of Yakima; that the majority of the propeelty
owners in the vicinity do not oppose the classification or - the annexa-
tion; that the needs of the City and community do require the herein-
after set forth zoning classifications; and that the highest and best
use for said property is as hereinafter determined, now, therefore
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. That the following described property contiguous to
the City of Yakima, Washington, to-wit:
Beginning at the intersection of the center lines of North
4th Street and the South line of the WO, NW Section 18
Township 13 North, Range 19, E.W.M., said point being upon
the present boundaries of the City of Yakima; thence North
along the centerline of North 4th Street to the South line
of Section 7, Township 13 North, Range 19, E.W.M.; thence
• East along said South line of Section 7, Township 13 North,
Range 19, E.W.M., to the West line of the E1/4 of the SWY4,
Section 7, Township 13 North, Range 19, E.W.M-. thence
North along said West line to the Northerly hank of the
• Yakima River; thence Southeasterly along the Northeasterly
bank of the Yakima River to the East line of Section 18,
• Township 13 North, Range 19, E.W.M.; thence South along •
the East line of Section 18 0 Township 13 North, Range 19,

E.W.M. to the North line of the SI) of the - 02 of the NY2 of
• the SE3 SE Section 18, Township 13 North, Range 19
E.W.M. and the present boundary of the City of Yakima;
and then following the present city limit boundaries to the
point of beginning, as follows; thence West along said
North line to the East line of the SW) Section 18,
Township 13 North, Range 19, E.W.M.; thence Forth along
said East line to the North line of the SW1A, SW, Section
18 Township 13 North, Range 19, D.W.M.; thence West along
said Forth line to the intersection of the East line of
alley in Blocks 163 to 165 inclusive, College Addition;
thence North 19° West to the intersection of the East line
of the NE, SITA, Section 18, Township 13 North, Range 19,
E.W.M.; thence North to the North line of said NE'/ S\/
Section 18, Township 13 North Range 19, E.W.M.; thence
west along said North line to Cascade Addition; thence North
- 676.5 feet; thence West 374 feet to the West line of Lot 4
Park Addition; thence North along said West line to the
North line of Lot 4, Park Addition; thence West along said
North line to the centerline of Forth 4th Street, which is
the point of beginning;
is hereby annexed to the City of Yakima, Washington.
Section 2. That the owners of the hereinbefore described real
property annexed to the City of Yakima shall not be required to assume
existing indebtednesses of the City of Yakima.
asaaal. That in accordance with the recommendations of the
Planning Commission of the City of Yakima, the following described por-
tion of said real property, to-wit:
Beginning at the intersection of the centerline of North 4th
Street and the South line of the NW3, NW, Section 18 Town-
ship 13 North, Range 19 E.W.M.; thence North along the
centerline of North 4th Street 248.5 feet; thence East 276
feet; thence North and parallel to said centerline of North
4th Street 76 feet; thence East 320 feet; thence South 328.7
feet to the South line of the NW%, N1 Section 18, Township
13 North, Range 19 E.W.M.; thence Westerly along said South
line 596 feet to point of beginning (the same being Lots 2
through 9,, inclusive, of EricksonQs Unrecorded Replat Lot 5);
is hereby zoned and classified as R-3 Multiple Family Residential Zone,
and the entire balance of said annexed area is hereby zoned and classi-
fied as M-2 Heavy Industrial Zone.
111 Section 4. That the next regularly amended Uee District Map poa?-
