HomeMy WebLinkAbout1961-310 ORDINANCE NO /0 • • AN ORDINANCE accepting the recommendation of the Planning Commission and rezoning certain:property located between East Beech Street and East Street on South 3rd Street, in the City of :Yakima, Washington from R-34 Multiple Family Residential Zone, to B-3, General Business Zone WHEREAS, on the 18th day of December, 1961, at a regularly scheduled meeting of the City Council, a hearing was had upon the recommendation of the Planning Commission that certain specified property in the City of Yakima, to-wit: Lots 1 through S Block 56, and Lots 9 through 16, Block 76, • Town of North Yakima, now Yakima, recorded in Volume "A" of Plats, page 10, records of Yakima. County; Washington; be rezoned from R-3, Multiple Family Residential Zone, to B.3, General Business Zone, and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that such recommendation of the II I Planning Commission for sudh rezoning should be approved for the fol- lowing reasons, to-wit: That such rezoning is in accord with good planning and with the Comprehensive Plan of the City of Yakima; that the majority of property owners. in the vicinity do not oppose the changen classification; that the needs of the City and community da require such change; and that the highest and hest use is for General Business purposes, now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA: Section 1, That the recommendation of the Planning Commission of `7r* the OPtty of Yakima that the following described real property Situated beteen'-East Beech Street and East Maple Street on South 3rd Street, in the EIty of Yakima, Washington, and more particularly described as • • follows, to-wit: Lots 1 through 8, Block 56, and Lots 9 through 16, Block 76, Town of North Yakima, now Yakima, recorded in Volume "A" of Plats, page 10, records of Yakima County, Washington; -1- be rezoned from R3 Multiple Family Residential Zone, to B-3, General III Business Zone, be and the same is, hereby aDproved, and said real property is herehy•rezoned to B-3, General Business Zone. Section 2,• The above change in zoning shall be included and de- picted on the next regularly amended Use District Map prepared by and for the said Citye Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed. to file with 'the Yakima County Auditor a certified copy of this ordinance,, Section 4. This ordinance Shall become effective 70 days after its passage approval and publication, as provided by law and by the City Charter* ASSED.
