AN ORDINANCE consenting to the assignment by The Pacific Telephone &
Telegraph Company, a corporation, of the franchise granted
to it by Ordinance No. B-1577, to the Pacific Northwest
Bell Telephone Company, a Washington corporation.
WHEREAS the City of Yakima did, on July 26, 1954, by Ordinance
No, B 1577, grant a franchise to The Pacific Telephone & Telegraph
Company, a corporation, to do general telephone and telegraph business
within the City of Yakima, and
WHEREAS the said Pacific Telephone & Telegraph Company has here-
tofore assigned all of its right, title and interest to Pacific North-
west Bell Telephone Company, a Washington corporation, and the City
Colincil deems it in the best interests of the people of the City of
Yakima to consent to such assignment, now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section]., That the City of Yakima does hereby consent to the
assignment by The Pacific Telephone & Telegraph Company, a corpora-
tion, of the franchise granted to it by Ordinance No. B-1577 to Pacific
Northwest Bell Telephone Company, a corporation.
Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect 30
days after its final passage, approval and publication, as provided by
law and by the City Charter.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, signed and approved this 12th day of
February, 1962.
