HomeMy WebLinkAbout1962-320 ORDINANCE NO. 2.ZO III AN ORDINANCE accepting the recommendation of the Planning Commission and rezoning certain property located at 1105 Broadway in the City of Yakima, Washington, from R-2, Two Family Residential Zone, to R-3, Multiple Family Residential Zone. WHEREAS, on the 19t day of February, 1962, at a regularly sched- uled meeting of the City Council, a hearing was had upon the recom- mendation of the Planning Commission that certain specified property in the City of Yakima, to-wit: The West Half'of Lot 3, Broadway-Lenox Addition, No. 1, according to the plat thereof recorded in Volume "I" of Plats, page 24, records of Yakima County, Washington; be :rezoned from R-2, Two-Family Residential Zone, to R-3, Multiple Family Residential Zone, and WHEREAS, the City Council finds that such recommendation of the 41 1 Planning Commission for such rezoning should be approved for the fol- lowing reasons, to-Wit: That such rezoning is in accord with good planning and with the Comprehensive Plan of the City of Yakima; that the majority of property owners in the vicinity do not oppose the change in that the needs of the City and community do require such change; and that the highest and best use is forMultipre Family Residential purpOs'es, now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIIIA; Section 1. That the recommendation of the Planning Commission of the City of Yakima that the following described real property situated at 1105 Broadway in the City of Yakima, Washington, and more particu- larly described as follows, to-wit: The West Half of Lot 3, Broadway-Lenox Addition, No. 1, according to the plat thereof recorded in Volume "I" of • 411 Plats, page 24, records of Yakima Couhty, Washington; -1- ., . be rezoned from R-2, Two Family Residential Zone, to R-3, Multiple • Family Residential Zone, be, and the same is, hereby approved, and said real property is hereby rezoned to R-3, Multiple Family Residen- tial Zone. Section 2. The above change in zoning shall be included and de- picted on the next regularly amended Use District Map prepared by and for the said City. Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to file_ with the Yakima County Auditor a certified copy of this ordi- nance. Section 4. This ordinance shall become effective thirty days after its passage, approval and publication, as provided by law and by the City Charter.
