ORDINANCE NO.
AN ORDINANCE-accepting the recommendation of the Planning Commission
and rezoning certain property located between South 40g
Avenue and South 44g Avenue and between Nob Hill Boule-
vard and Arlington Street, in the City of Yakima, Wash-
ington, from R-1, Single Family Residential, to R-3,
- Multiple Family Residential Zone.
WHEREAS, on the 19g day of February, 1962,, at a regularly sched-
uled meeting of the City Council, a hearing was had upon the recom-
mendation of the Planning Commission that certain specified property
in the City of Yakima, to-wit:
The Southeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Sec-
, tion 27, Township 13 North, Range 18, E.W.M.; EXCEPT
the Southwest Quarter thereof;
be rezoned from R-1, Single Family Residential, to R-3, Multiple
Family Residential Zone, and
WHEREAS, the-City Council finds that such recommendation of the
Planning Commission for such rezoning should be approved for the fol-
lowing reasons, to-wit: That such rezoning is in accord with good
planning and with the Comprehensive Plan of the City of Yakima; that
the'majority of property owners in the vicinity:do not oppose the
change in classification; that the needs of the City and community do
require such change; and that the highest and best use is for Multiple
Family Residential purposes, now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF YAKIMA:
Section 1. That the recommendation of the Planning Commission of
the City of Yakima that the following described real property situated
between South 40g Avenue and South /1 Avenue and between Nob Hill
Boulevard and Arlington Street, in the City of Yakima, Washington,
0 and more particularly described as follows, to-wit:

The Southeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Sec-
tion 27, TOwnship 13 North, Range 18, E.V.M. EXCEPT
the Southwest Quarter thereof;
be rezoned from R-1, Single Family Residential Zone, to R-3, Multiple
Family Residential Zone, be, and the same is, hereby approved, and
said real property is hereby rezoned to R-3, Multiple Family Residen-
tial Zone.
Section 2. . The above change in zoning shall be included and de- .
picted on the next regularly amended Use District Map prepared by and
for the said City.
Section 3. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to
file with the Yakima County Auditor a certified copy of this ordi-
nance.
Section4. This ordinance shall become effective thirty days
after its passage, approval and publication, as provided by law and
III by the City Charter.
PASSED BY THE CITY COUNCIL, signed and approved this 19th day of
February, 1962.
