AN ORDINAFCE relating to Yakima City Jail prisoners, providing for satisfaction of judgment and payment of fine, and mending Section 1.66.010 of the City of Yakima Municipal Code. BE IT ORDAI BY THE CITY OF YAKIVA: Section 1. That Section 1.66.010 of the City of Yakima Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows: 1.66.010 SATISFIXTION OF JUDGMENT—PAYMENT OP FINE, Tn all cases of conviction, upon a trial had in the Police Court of the City of Yakima, for the violation of any city ordinance, the Police Judge shall enter judgment for the fine and costs against the defendant and may commit such defendant to jail, to be placed at hard labor until the judgment is satisfied or payment thereof secured as provided by law, but the defen- - dant shall not be imprisoned for a longer aggregate time than one day for every Nine Dollars (S9.00) of the fine and costs, and a defendant who has been committed shall be discharged at any time upon the payment of such part of the fine and costs as remain unpaid, after deducting from the whole amount any previous payment and Nine Dollars ($9„00) for every day such defendant has been imprisoned upon commitment." Section 2. This ordinance shall be in full force and effect 30 days after its passage, approval and publication, as provided by law and by the City Charter.
